
GATE 2026 result: IIT Guwahati has released GATE result date. The authorities will announce the exam result on March 19. Candidates who have appeared for GATE exam can check their qualifying status. The official website to check GATE MTech result 2026 is gate2026.iitg.ac.in using their enrollment ID and password.
Once the result of GATE 2026 is announced, candidates will be able to download their scorecard at GOAPS portal. The scorecard is valid for three years from the date of result announcement. Candidates can use their scorecard for MTech admission at IITs, NITs, PhD, and PSU recruitment.

How to calculate GATE Score?
GATE score is calculated using the raw marks secured by the applicant in exam. For multi-session papers, the scores will be evaluated by converting raw marks into normalised marks for that particular branch. Check formula below.
GATE 2026 Normalization Procedure
GATE normalization will be done for the exams conducted in multiple sessions. It considers the variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across multiple sessions. The GATE normalisation formula is available below.
What to do after GATE Result 2026?
After the declaration of the GATE result 2026, the scorecard will be available for the qualified candidates. Then, successful candidates will go for either admission to MTech programs or PSU recruitment through GATE. GATE 2026 counselling will be conducted by COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) for admission to IITs, and CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech for admission to MTech programs offered by NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and CFTIs. The cutoff is the minimum mark the candidate must obtain to pass the exam. GATE cut-off marks for IIT, NIT, IIIT, etc., vary from stream to stream.
