CAT 2025 mock test (official) will be released on November 12, 2025. Candidates will be able to take the mock test online at iimcat.ac.in website. In an official notification released today, the examination body said, βa mock test with sample questions to familiarize the candidates with the format and interface of the exam will be available on the CAT website starting from November 12, 2025. β
While candidates are already practicing CAT mock tests in dozens, they should attempt the official CAT 2025 mock test at least once to have an experience of real exam environment so that on the exam day, they do not feel like they have stepped into an unknown territory.
How to Take CAT 2025 Mock Test at Official Website?
The official CAT mock test will be available till November 30 (exam day). Check below how to attempt it:
- Go to iimcat.ac.in website
- Click on mock test link
- Enter user name and password
- Read instructions and start the test

- The CAT mock test will be of 120 minutes with sectional time limit of 40 minutes per section
- The order will be VARC β DILR and Quantitative Aptitude
- Candidates can mark answers from the four given options
- If they wish to save it for later, they can click on βreviewβ option
- Test window will move to next section as soon as 40 minutes are over
- The test will end automatically after 120 minutes
- Result will be displayed at the end of the test
- The result of official CAT mock test will be for reference only

CAT exam has sectional time limit of 40 minutes per section and as soon as the time gets over, the test screen moves to the new section. So, it is very important that a candidate uses 40 minutes to attempt the questions correctly and optimally. RC passages are long and dense. Sometimes, DI or LR questions turn out to be lengthy, Quants questions are often time taking. By practicing sectional mock tests, candidate will get the practice of how to manage 40 minutes irrespective of the type of question.
Candidates should practice CAT mock test during the day. Once, CAT admit card is released, they should practice CAT mocks at the same time as their exam slot. This will help them align their mind and body to 2 hours of rigorous test so that they can utilize their time in the CAT exam well. For example, CAT exam starts are early as 8:30 am. So, those who are not used to studying early morning will face difficulty in performing optimally if they get morning slot.
