GITAM GAT 2026: Registration OPEN, Exam Date (OUT), Syllabus, Pattern, Preparation, Admission Process

GITAM will hold the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) for the current phase on March 29. GAT is compulsory for admission to various UG and PG courses offered at GITAM campuses.

The GITAM GAT scholarship policies are as follows:

• For the scholarships offered through various National and State Entrance Tests, the students are required to apply for GITAM Admission Test (GAT) and must attend the counseling for admission as per the schedule.
• If a student is eligible for a scholarship under more than one category through GAT, National, and State Entrance Tests, then he/she will be awarded the highest percent of the scholarship.
• The scholarship offered through GAT, National and State Entrance Tests is applicable for the First Year only. The same scholarship will be continued in the subsequent years of study subject to scoring a CGPA of 8.0 and above.
• The children of GITAM employees admitted in full-time programmes are further eligible to avail only 25% of Merit Scholarship through GAT, National and State Entrance Tests.
• The students admitted through GAT Scholarship Scheme are further eligible for Alumni returning to Higher Education, Alumni Children, Sibling Scholarship, and Retired Employee Children scholarship.

There are a total of 8 different specialisations of BTech at GITAM. Each BTech course at GITAM is open to lateral entry and have the same total duration and tuition fees as each other. Admissions to all the BTech courses available at GITAM are decided by the performance of a candidate in the JEE Mains entrance exam. The GAT entrance exam registrations have not been revealed yet for the 2026 session. Candidates need to visit the official website for the GAT registrations to stay updated. The application fee for GITAM GAT is INR 1200 for one group, and INR 2400 in case the candidates are applying from 2 different groups.

At the PG level, the institute offers a two-year M.Tech course. Yes, it is mandatory to produce any one of the authorised photo identity cards along with the GITAM GAT admit card to the invigilator for verification. GITAM GAT 2025 admit card, aspirants are required to produce an ID card (Passport / Driving License / EC voter ID card / IT PAN card / School or College ID card with photo / Aadhar Card) for personal identification proof for the examination.

GITAM GAT BTech syllabus includes 10+2 level questions from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Quantitative Aptitude & Analytical Reasoning, and English. GAT exam is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes for BBA and 90 minutes for MBA. Candidates must attempt 100 for BBA and 200 questions for MBA within the given time duration. No provision for extra time is applicable for students appearing for GAT.

No, all the questions in the GAT question paper will be objective-type questions and will be in MCQ format. Candidates will be given four options for each question. Candidates will have to select the correct option for each question. GAT question paper will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will be for one mark. There will be a negative marking for any wrong answers. Candidates will have to attempt the 200 questions in 60 minutes. There will be no sectional time limit to attempt the GAT exam sections. GAT 2026 exam will be held multiple times in a year in computer-based mode across 27 cities in India.

In GITAM GAT, each correct answer will be awarded 1 or 2 marks. There is no negative marking. Each question has four options, of which one is correct.

Some of important topics for GAT English Language section are: Verbal Reasoning, Sentence completion, Fill In the Blanks, One word substitution, Contextual usage, Syllogisms, Sentence correction, Idioms, Analogies, Different usage of same word, Jumbled paragraphs, Foreign language words used in English.

Each student can appear for the GAT exam once for one course in one phase. Authorities does not provide re-appearing students with credentials by considering it an unfair practice of duplicate application. Candidates can apply for courses while filling the single application form.

No, candidates will not be able to change the GAT exam centre once the application form is submitted. GITAM Deemed to be University does not provide any provision for GAT application form correction window. Candidates filling the application form must carefully enter the details. The GAT 2026 registration will commence online and the last date of registration for MBA and BBA will be announced in December 2025. Candidates must carefully enter the personal details, academic details, exam centre preference and payment details. 

GAT application form once submitted, no requests for change in the details of the application form will be entertained. Candidates must check the list of the GAT exam centres before filling the application form. 

Before filling the GAT application form, candidates must ensure to keep the following documents ready:

• Any valid Government ID proof.    

• Educational Qualification details.    

• Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background.    

• Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format.

GAT 2026 exam will be held in multiple sessions. Candidates who will register for the exam will be able to appear for the GAT exam. The examination for GITAM (Deemed to be University) UG and PG admissions will be held in computer based mode. Candidates will have to report to the allotted exam centre. GAT exam is codncuted for a duration of 60 minutes. As per the GAT exam pattern, the question paper consists of 200 multiple-choice questions. Candidates had to choose a correct answer among the four options provided. There will be a negative marking for wrong answers of 1/3 marks. Candidates wothout GAT admit card will not be permitted to enter the GAT exam centre.
