GITAM GAT 2026: Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) has released the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) 2026 application form. The GITAM GAT 2026 application form is available on the official website - gitam.edu, and the link to apply is available below. GITAM GAT 2026 exam will be held in various phases, and the last date to apply for the current phase is March 25. The GITAM GAT 2026 exam date for the current phase is March 29.

GITAM conducts the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) for admission to various UG and PG courses offered at Vishakapatnam, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and GIMSR campuses. The admission test is held nationally and in multiple states in computer-based and online proctored tests for a few courses. Candidates have to review the following groups. Note that candidates may apply for one or more programs within the same group using a single application.

  • For example, if a student wants to apply for both BBA and B.A., they may select these two programs and pay INR 1200/-.

Q:   When will be the GAT exam conducted?

GITAM will hold the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) for the current phase on March 29. GAT is compulsory for admission to various UG and PG courses offered at GITAM campuses.

Q:   What are the scholarship policies offered via GITAM GAT?
A: 

The GITAM GAT scholarship policies are as follows:

  • For the scholarships offered through various National and State Entrance Tests, the students are required to apply for GITAM Admission Test (GAT) and must attend the counseling for admission as per the schedule.
  • If a student is eligible for a scholarship under more than one category through GAT, National, and State Entrance Tests, then he/she will be awarded the highest percent of the scholarship.
  • The scholarship offered through GAT, National and State Entrance Tests is applicable for the First Year only. The same scholarship will be continued in the subsequent years of study subject to scoring a CGPA of 8.0 and above.
  • The children of GITAM employees admitted in full-time programmes are further eligible to avail only 25% of Merit Scholarship through GAT, National and State Entrance Tests.
  • The students admitted through GAT Scholarship Scheme are further eligible for Alumni returning to Higher Education, Alumni Children, Sibling Scholarship, and Retired Employee Children scholarship.
Q:   How many specialisation of BTech are available at GITAM?
A: 

There are a total of 8 different specialisations of BTech at GITAM. Each BTech course at GITAM is open to lateral entry and have the same total duration and tuition fees as each other. Admissions to all the BTech courses available at GITAM are decided by the performance of a candidate in the JEE Mains entrance exam. Candidates can check the elgibility criteria for each BTech course on the official website.

What is GITAM GAT?

GITAM Admission Test or GAT is an entrance test for admission to various UG and PG courses offered by the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM). The exam is held as a computer-based test across various states of India and also as an online proctored test for some courses. GAT is the common test for admission to all GITAM campuses at Vishakapatnam, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and GIMSR. The duration of the test is 1 / 2 hours depending on the course for which the exam is being held. The test consists of questions that are of objective type (multiple choice questions). Each question has four options of which one is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded 1 or 2 marks. The wrong answers and unanswered questions receive nil marks. The candidates who qualify GAT are then called for admission completion and finalisation at the GITAM campuses.

Note that candidates who have scores of JEE Main, TS EAMCET, or AP EAMCET are exempted from GAT. If a candidate hasn't appeared for any of the mentioned exams, they would need to apply and appear for the GITAM Admissions Test (GAT) to qualify for engineering at GITAM.

The GAT entrance exam registrations have not been revealed yet for the 2026 session. Candidates need to visit the official website for the GAT registrations to stay updated. Q:   What courses and stream are offered by the GITAM School of Technology Visakhapatnam?
A: 

The stream in which the courses are offered by the GITAM School of Technology Visakhapatnam. Moreover, at undergraduate level, it provides a four-year B.Tech course to its students. At the PG level, the institute offers a two-year M.Tech course. Additionally, GITAM School of Technology Visakhapatnam also offers three-year full-time and four-year part-time Ph.D. courses to the students. B.Tech is offered in 13 specialisations and M.Tech in nine specialisations.

Generally, the BTech courses offered by GITAM have a duration of 4 years minimum. However, candidates who manage secure admissions into the lateral entry admissions directly into the 2nd year have a duration of 3 years. GITAM GAT 2026 Admit Card

The candidates who register for GAT are issued the GITAM GAT admit card. The release of admit card is notified to the candidates via their registered email id and phone number. All candidates must carry GITAM GAT 2026 admit card to exam centre and follow exam day guidelines mentioned on it. Candidates should follow exam date and time on admit card and reach exam centre as per reporting time on admit card. Also, keep GAT admit card safe after exam ends.

On the day of the exam, candidates must carry the GAT 2026 admit card with a valid and original photo id proof like Passport / Driving License / EC voter ID card / IT PAN card / School or College photo bearing ID card / Aadhar Card.

GITAM GAT result 2026 is declared in online mode on the official website. Candidates who have appeared in the exam can download the result of GITAM GAT from their respective logins. The merit of a candidate is determined by the score secured in the exam. However, this is subject to the rule of reservation as per UGC guidelines/norms applicable to the university. Students who qualify in the GITAM GAT exam are eligible for admissions only if they fulfil the requirement of minimum marks in the qualifying examination as per the eligibility criteria.

Q:   Can I change the GAT exam centre after submitting the application form?
A: 

No, candidates will not be able to change the GAT exam centre once the application form is submitted. GITAM Deemed to be University does not provide any provision for GAT application form correction window. Candidates filling the application form must carefully enter the details. The GAT 2026 registration will commence online and the last date of registration for MBA and BBA will be announced in December 2025. Candidates must carefully enter the personal details, academic details, exam centre preference and payment details. 

GAT application form once submitted, no requests for change in the details of the application form will be entertained. Candidates must check the list of the GAT exam centres before filling the application form. 

Q:   What are the documents required to fill GAT application form?

Before filling the GAT application form, candidates must ensure to keep the following documents ready:

  • Any valid Government ID proof.    

  • Educational Qualification details.    

  • Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background.

GAT 2026 exam will be held in multiple sessions. Candidates who will register for the exam will be able to appear for the GAT exam. The examination for GITAM (Deemed to be University) UG and PG admissions will be held in computer based mode. Candidates will have to report to the allotted exam centre. GAT exam is codncuted for a duration of 60 minutes. As per the GAT exam pattern, the question paper consists of 200 multiple-choice questions. Candidates had to choose a correct answer among the four options provided. There will be a negative marking for wrong answers of 1/3 marks. Candidates wothout GAT admit card will not be permitted to enter the GAT exam centre.

GITAM GAT exam is not as tough as JEE Main exam, but it needs good preparation. Thus, candidates should focus well in their class 12 boards preparation and also in class 11. This will be enough to crack the GITAM GAT exam.
