Various factors play a part when it comes to the fear of failure. For any student appearing for an exam, it seems the most widely held concept. However, it is not an appropriate feeling for any student, as it stresses the students prior to the exams leading to certain consequences.
There is no such fear that stands against the students, it is the consequences associated with the failure that the students are afraid of. These consequences involve:
Personal: Failure weakens the personality of the student while one thinks of ‘What others will think?’ This also leads to feeling guilty and worthless that restricts the students from concentrating.

Interpersonal: This is the mindset of losing support from parents or peers. The stress to face the ridicule from the other people is not welcoming.
Career setting: This consequence occupies the students to distract them from the studies and involve them in thinking about the future and the career. Students feel pressured about earning a decent income if not being able to earn good marks. This fear of losing the job or social status makes the student lose the potential to work effectively.
Fear the fear
The simplest way to take a check on the fear is to find the reasons for worrying a student. This may involve factors like getting scolded by parents, pressure from the teachers or the teases by the peers. Thus, getting in touch with the reasons behind the fear might help the students cope with it. This can be ensured by overcoming these reasons and allowing the students to realise the support and love from their near and dear ones. This may capture the following leads:
- If the students are fearing the behaviour of parents, peers or teachers, after the results, one needs to support the students by telling their importance and value in the society more than anything.
- Moreover, if the students are concerned about the career opportunities lying behind their marks, then they need to understand that marks are not the only way to get in. Skills, talent and interests also play a major role in getting the student’s desired occupation.
- Develop the attitude of trust and understanding amongst the peers to reduce the stress of thought of handling peer pressure.
Preparation helps to get through the ladder
Fear finds its home where there is a lack of confidence. Above all, if one is prepared well in advance, there are fewer chances of fearing. One can never be perfect and completely ready yet one can overcome the fear by handling the things with planned schedules and proper preparation of the exams. Moreover, try to improve your mistakes. Candidates should neither take themselves for granted nor should fall for the 100 percent. Balancing the behaviour towards the exams is essential to overcome the fear of failure.
Follow your goals and try to achieve it and make new goals, if not achieved. One should not sit and mourn about past mistakes or start fearing the coming future. Well, if the student knows how much the accomplishments play a part in life and maintains the balance of it, one can easily overcome the fear. However, little sense of fear is also necessary as that feeling brings in the responsibility to work hard.

Yes, you should prepare for SNAP separately, especially with regard to sample question and mock test practice. Even if you don't cover the syllabus separately, practice SNAP mock test specifically.
