Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is an entrance test for admission to undergraduate programmes offered at BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. It tests candidates' aptitude in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English proficiency and logical reasoning. The BITSAT 2026 exam for session 1 was held on April 15 and 16, and for session 2, it was held from May 25 to 27. The authorities will consider the best score out of the two attempts.

What is BITSAT?
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is one of India’s most sought-after national entrance exams for engineering. BITS Pilani conducts the BITSAT exam for admission to undergraduate programs like Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), and integrated Master’s courses in science and technology across the BITS campuses. Over the years, BITSAT has become popular not only for admission into the prestigious BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad, but also for the exam and merit-based selection process. The BITSAT exam is conducted in online mode, and around 1.5 lakh students apply for it every year. - BITS, Pilani, announced that the top 500 rank holders in BITSAT 2026 will get a full tuition fee scholarship for all four years of their degree under the tuition blind admission scheme.

BITSAT Counselling 2026

BITS Pilani is conducting the BITSAT 2026 counselling process online. The authorities have announced the complete BITSAT counselling schedule 2026. The choice filling for the counselling process has already concluded. The preference form edit window was open till June 10. The authorities will conduct the seat allotment based on the candidate's scores and the preferences filled. Further, admissions will be offered only if the student fulfils the 75% criteria. The BITSAT 2026 seat allotment will be announced in the form of iterations.
Direct admissions will be available for those students who have obtained the first rank in their respective State/Central board exams, irrespective of their BITSAT 2026 score.

Note: The candidates who will join the MSc programme are eligible to apply for the dual degree in Engineering at BITS Pilani after the completion of one year. This assignment is made by a competition analysis of their performance at BITS at the end of the first year.
BITSAT 2026 Cutoff
BITS Pilani will prepare the BITSAT 2026 cutoff to select students for admission. The minimum scores needed to have a higher chance of admission will be released through the BITSAT cutoff. While preparing the cutoff, the authorities will consider various factors related to the examination and admission process, i.e., previous years' cutoff trends, difficulty level of the entrance exam, total number of candidates applying, number of qualified candidates, total number of available seats, etc. It is to be noted that the BITSAT cutoff 2026 will be different for every category, course and college selected by the candidates.

BITS RMIT 2026 Admission Process
BITS Pilani and RMIT University, Melbourne, are offering eligible candidates an opportunity to obtain dual undergraduate degrees from both Universities. Through the BITS RMIT programme, candidates with a valid BITSAT score can apply and gain the opportunity to enrol concurrently into both BITS Pilani and RMIT. The students will study mainly BITS subjects, but will also gain exposure to RMIT subjects. Students will study the first half of their degree at BITS Pilani and the second half at RMIT University, Melbourne. However, in the first two years of study, the students will be flown to Melbourne for a two-week introductory course.
For admissions into BITS Pilani and RMIT University, the candidates will have to attempt BITSAT 2026 and secure a good score. Those candidates who have applied for the programme and achieved the preferred cutoff will be contacted by the University to complete the admission process.
BITSAT 2026 Scholarships
BITS Pilani has introduced tuition-blind admissions for the top 500 rank holders of BITSAT from the academic year 2026-27. Students who secure a place among the top 500 in BITSAT and have an annual family income of up to ₹20 lakh will receive a full tuition fee scholarship for all four years of their degree. Students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.5 at their campus to continue getting the benefit. The institute clarified that this is not a scholarship that students need to apply for after admission. The full tuition support will be part of the admission process itself. In the last year alone, the institute gave ₹132 crore in merit and merit-cum-need scholarships. Around one in four students across its campuses received some form of financial help.

BITSAT Result 2026 Session 2
Candidates can check their obtained scores immediately after the BITSAT exam concludes. Moderated scores are released through the BITSAT result only. The BITSAT 2026 result for session 2 is available in the form of a scorecard. To download the results, candidates have to log in with their application number and password. If candidates attempt both exam sessions, the best of two will be considered for admission.

BITSAT 2026 seat allotment dates will be released at official website. Students can check their allotment status in form of iterations. To check allotment, students will have to log in with the required details.
No. The BITS Pilani authorities do not announce the list of BITSAT toppers. However, if the list of toppers is released, the students will be able to access it here. Students will be scored as per their performance in the exam. If both exam sessions are attempted, then the best score will be considered for admission.
BITSAT merit list will be prepared after checking performance of students in exam. Merit list will be released as admit and wait list. Students in admit list will be eligible for admission, while those in wait list will be called in for next round of allotment.
At the exam centre, the students will have to bring their BITSAT admit card along with one valid identity proof for verification. No soft copies will be accepted so the students will have to bring print outs. If these documents are not shown at the centre, the students will not be allowed to enter the centre to attempt the exam.
BITS, Pilani, holds the BITSAT examination in two shifted sessions. The timings for the morning session are from 9 AM to 12 PM, and others are from 2 PM to 5 PM in the afternoon session. Candidates can select the BITSAT slot timings using the BITSAT slot booking system.
BITSAT evaluates the candidates’ language skills in English. Students should prepare sections like grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing.
Students can choose preferred BITSAT exam centre while filling application form. Preferred exam cities have to be selected in order of preference. Based on preferences, exam centres will be given to students.
BITSAT application fee has to be paid to be registered for entrance exam. Fee has to be paid through credit card/debit card/net banking/ICICI payment gateway. Offline payments will not be accepted.
BITS Pilani will announce the BITSAT test centre allotment to let the students know their allotted test centres. After checking their allotted test centre, the students will be able to choose the preferred exam slot from the available ones at their centre. The exam slots have to be booked through the BITSAT slot booking facility.
No. BITS Pilani will not release the application form offline. Students will have to fill out the form online at the official website. All of the required details have to be submitted online and the fee has to be paid. No other mode of application will be accepted.
Yes. There will be no separate counselling process for the different BITS campuses. Students will have to participate in the centralized counselling for admissions into their preferred campuses. The list of preferences have to be submitted during counselling for allotment.
Yes, the students will be able to correct/edit their submitted details through the online BITSAT application correction facility. However, all information will be open for corrections. Students should login and make the corrections within the allotted timeline. For every exam session, a separate correction facility will be open.
For session 1 and both sessions the BITSAT 2026 application form last date was March 19, 2026. The last date to submit the application form for session 2 was May 5, 2026.
If students forget to book their BITSAT exam slot, then authorities will automatically allot them from available slots. Once slots are allotted, candidates cannot request authorities to change it. Candidates are advised to complete slot booking themselves.
BITSAT additional questions will be available for students if they finish answering all 130 questions and still have time left. No additional time will be given to complete additional 12 questions. This allows students to score extra marks in exam.
The BITSAT question paper is divided into four section. For the Mathematics/Biology section, there will be 40 questions. Physics and Chemistry will have 30 questions in each section. Logical Reasoning will have 20 and English Proficiency will have 10 questions. There will 130 questions in the question paper.
