KMAT 2026 exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 20, 2026, in online mode. The KMAT exam will be conducted by the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA), offering admissions into MBA, MCA, and PGDM courses for colleges in Karnataka. The timings for the MCA exam are from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and for the MBA exam, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The KMAT registration process ended on September 6, 2026. The details of the KMAT mock tests and KMAT admit card will soon be announced on the official KMAT website at kmatindia.com. What is KMAT Karnataka exam?

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is conducted by the Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges' Association (KPPGCA) for admissions to Master of Business Administration (MBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) , and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) courses. By the scorecard of the KMAT exam, students can take admission into 170 AICTE approved MBA colleges and 55 MCA colleges. Hence, many students give this exam and score really well in it.

Students should check the eligibility criteria before filling out the application form.

  • Students should have a minimum of 50% marks in their graduation and should have graduated from a recognised univeristy/college. 
  • For students from reserved categories, the minimum percentage of marks required is 45%.

  • Click KMAT 2026 application

KMAT 2026 Admit Card and Exam Day Guidelines

KMAT 2026 admit card will be available on KMAT India website. KMAT admit card is a mandatory document to be kept with students on exam day. They should download admit card after its release and save it on desktop. KMAT admit card 2026 mentions exam slot, login time, etc.

  • Log on to KMAT website: kmatindia.com
  • Click on Login on the candidate login
  • Enter KMAT 2026 application number and password
  • Go to KMAT admit card section
  • Click on Download and save the hall ticket

KMAT 2026 Exam Day Guidelines & Checklist

The KMAT exam needs to be taken from home, using a laptop or a desktop. Candidates must remember that they will be invigilated with the help of AI and a human proctor. Therefore, they should not indulge in any unfair practices and take their exam with utmost honesty. 

Exam guidelines

  • Applicants must not leave their seats throughout the exam because their videos and images will be recorded and supervised.

  • Applicants must not open any other application or a pop-up window.

  • No breaks during the exam are allowed.

  • Applicants cannot use any electronic gadget, such as a tablet, calculator, etc., while taking the exam. 

  • For rough work, use a blank sheet of paper after showing it to the invigilator. 

  • Candidates are not allowed to talk or speak during the KMAT exam.

  • Candidates must have their KMAT hall ticket and a photo ID proof. 

  • The webcam’s position shouldn’t be disturbed.

Exam Checklist

  • Use a laptop/desktop that has Windows 7, 8, 10, and Ubuntu LINUX (14.1 and 16) versions.

  • Make sure that it is connected to the charger throughout the exam duration.

  • The laptop/desktop must have a minimum of 4GB of RAM and an Intel Core i3 processor or above. 

  • There must be at least 100 MB of free space on the computer.

  • Candidates must be seated in front of the laptop throughout the exam in a well-lit area where their face is clearly visible.

  • Candidates must take the exam in formal clothes.

  • There shouldn’t be any background noise.

KMAT 2026 Selection Process

The KMAT selection process is provided below:

  • First, the student needs to register for the exam and score well on it. 
  • Then, after the results are announced, shortlisted students are called up for the personal interview/group discussion round at the allotted college. 
  • After the PI/GD round, students are given a composite score. 
  • Participating institutes then assess the student on the basis of the composite score and offer admission to the suitable candidate accordingly. 

Selected students are notified via e-mail. Then, they need to visit the college with required documents and pay the fee to secure their admission.

However, candidates should know that the colleges which accept KMAT exam scores outside Karnataka, do not gaurantee admission. Some colleges may have their own entrance exams or may prioritise other national-level entrance exams, such as CAT, MAT, or CMAT, for admission.

As per the information on the web, the closing rank for GM category in 2025 was 11442 in round 3. So, yes candidate can pursue MCA from NIE Mysore. The chances may be low, because the priority is given to candidate with higher ranks.
