Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) recorded an increase of 40% registrations this year. The number of applications received for XAT 2024 is 135,000. This is an unprecedented rise in the number of XAT registrations over the years. The XAT 2024 registrations started on July 15 and concluded on December 10, 2023.
This season, there has been a significant rise in registrations for MBA entrance exams. While CAT 2023 recorded an all time high of 3.30 lakh registrations, SNAP 2023 also witnessed a 25% rise with 1.42 lakh applications.
Prof. Rahul Shukla, Convenor of XAT, commented, "XAT has always been a proponent of diversity, and our test’s design reflects that. We've emphasized this message to our candidates, which may be one of the driving factors behind this historic surge in registrations." Furthermore, this year's success can be attributed to an organized campaign that aimed to reach out to participants effectively, with the support of associate business schools. Prof. Shukla added, "We are committed to taking XAT to new heights. While we have never compromised on the standard of the test, this year we made a concerted effort to dispel misconceptions. We wanted to convey that XAT is a smart test for smart aspirants. It's heartening to see 135,000 smart aspirants registering with us."
The XAT score is accepted by about 700 MBA colleges in India. It is conducted in over 70 cities across India in computer based test mode. XAT is a speed based test having over 100 questions in MCQ format from Verbal Ability, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Decision Making and GK. XAT 2024 is scheduled on January 7, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Admit cards for the XAT 2024 will be released on December 20, 2023.
