IMU CET 2026 Dates: The Indian Maritime University releases the IMU CET 2026 dates. The application form of IMU CET 2026 is released on the official website, and candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria can apply till the last date. IMU CET 2026 Dates: Pre Exam Events

Before the exam, there are some important IMU CET dates and events that the candidates must note; check below.

IMU CET 2026 Application Form: Candidates can access the IMU CET application form 2026 online till the last date. The application link will be made available on IMU’s official website. The application form is to be filled out and submitted before the final date. No applications after the final date are accepted. Automated e-mails/SMS are sent to every registered applicant on successful registration of the application, uploading of the admit card, publication of results, etc.

IMU CET 2026 Admit Card: Registered candidates can download the IMU CET admit card 2026 online. The admit card has to be downloaded and kept safe since it has to be presented at the exam centre. Details regarding the exam date, timings, venue, guidelines, and more are released through the admit card of IMU CET 2026. To download the IMU CET admit card, candidates have to log in to the official website using their login credentials.

The Indian maritime university common entrance test is an annually conducted national level exam to shortlist candidates admission into undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the maritime colleges of India

Q:   Who can apply for the IMU CET form?
A: 
  1. For UG course - Anyone who is minimum 17 years of age and have obtained 10+2/equivalent PCM Average - Minimum 60% and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination).

  2. For PG course – Anyone who have BSc / BTech degree in Mechanical, Civil, Naval can apply for various programme offered under PG courses.

Q:   What types of questions are asked in the IMU CET exam?

For both UG and PG courses, the type of questions will be asked in exam are multiple choice questions.

IMU CET 2026 Dates: Post Exam Events

IMU CET 2026 Result: The candidates can access the IMU CET result 2026 online.  The IMUCET 2026 result is made available as a rank list for UG, MBA and MTech courses separately. The IMU CET 2026 rank card is also published under the respective logins of the candidates. To access the rank card/result of IMU CET 2026, the candidates will have to log in using the required credentials. Aspirants qualifying for the entrance exam are then called for the counselling process.

IMU CET 2026 Counselling: IMU conducts the IMU CET counselling in online mode for admission in 6 campuses of IMU. Shortlisted candidates are called to appear in the counselling. Candidates have to go through various stages, which are registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, fee payment, etc. Online counselling will not cover admissions to the affiliated institutes, but only to the 6 IMU campuses. IMU CET counselling will take place in two phases.

IMU CET 2026 Exam Overview

The Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) 2026 exam will be held in computer-based mode across various test centres across the nation. IMU CET is held for 3 3-hour durations. the exam has 0.25 negative marking, and all the questions in the exam are multiple-choice questions. The candidates desirous of joining Diploma in Nautical Science, BSc (Nautical Science), and BE/BTech (Marine Engineering) courses have to appear for IMU CET. Candidates can also join MBA and MTech courses via IMU CET or they can apply via CMAT/CAT/MAT and CUET PG/GATE/PGCET scores. Preference in admissions will be given to candidates with IMU-CET ranks. Hence, the candidates are encouraged to register for IMU CET.

There are three stages: the registration process, the IMU Common Entrance Test, and the online counselling process. After getting the Rank Certificate, candidates must apply for online counselling to seek admission to IMU campuses. For the Affiliated Institutes and other Maritime Training Institutes, they need to apply directly to the respective institutes using their IMU CET Rank Certificate.
