Using the answer key, questions and solutions candidates can analyse their performance in the exam and get an idea of their JEE Main 2022 raw score in the July session. It is expected that NTA will release the JEE Main result in the first week of August. Before the result, the official JEE Main 2022 July answer key will be also released on the official website. Q:   How many questions are asked in JEE Main exam?
A:

As per the current JEE Main pattern, the Paper 1 exam have a total of 75 questions, 25 each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 are multiple choice questions and 5 are questions with numerical value answers. Students need to answer all 5 numerical value type questions. Also, all 20 multiple-choice questions are compulsory and no choice is provided in them. Students need to complete all the 75 questions in 3 hours. The total marks of JEE Main exam is 300.

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in JEE Main exam?
A:

NO, it is compulsory to attempt all questions in the JEE Main exam. The JEE Main exam has negative marking and candidates must answer only those questions for which they know the correct answer. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in JEE Main that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?
A:

Questions in the JEE Main exam are of two types

Multiple choice questions - Each question will have 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Candidates have to select the correct answer out of the 4 available options. 

Numerical Ability Question - In these type of questions, no options are provided. Candidates have to solve the question and write its answer using keyword and mouse. Answer to these questions will be a numerical value.

Q:   Upto which year should I solve previous year question papers for JEE?
A:

It is advised that students should solve at least previous 10 year question papers of JEE Main. However, the exam pattern as well as difficulty level of JEE Mains has underwent a lot of changes during the last 10 years but still solving previous year JEE Main question papers from last 10 years will definitely help in scoring the good marks in the exam. As new type of questions (Questions with Numerical Value Answer) were intrduced recently, students are advised to practice solving these type of questions to help solve it during the actual exam.

Q:   What are the numerical value questions in JEE Main exam?
A:

Numerical value questions in JEE Main are the questions for which the answer will be a numerical value. In every subject, there will be 5 numerical value type questions and students need to attempt all 5 questions. In total, students will need to answer only 75 questions. For numerical value type questions, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.

Q:   How can I best utilize previous year JEE Main question papers?
A:

JEE Main previous year question papers are the best source of learning to crack JEE Mains. It gives information about the difficulty level of the exam and Chapterwise weightage of topics covered in past years. Previous year JEE Main question papers can be used as mock tests/sample papers to evaluate and analyze performance.

It is advised that students analyze the previous year question paper thoroughly once they start preparing for the JEE Mains. Students must regularly solve JEE Main previous year question papers during their preparation. In the last one month before exam, students should solve at least last 10 years JEE Main papers to help boost their preparation level.

How to Calculate Score Using JEE Main 2022 Answer Key

To calculate the score using JEE Main answer key 2022, candidates can check the steps below:

Step 1: Open the answer key and check the number of correct and wrong answers.

Step 2: No count the number of correct and wrong answers.

Step 3: Now use the official marking scheme to calculate the score. Add 4 marks for the correct answer and since there is no negative marking, give -1 for wrong answers. The marking scheme of JEE Main 2022 is given below:

Official JEE Main 2022 Answer Key

A few days after the exam is over, candidates can check the JEE Main official answer key. The official answer key is made available on the official website for all days and shifts. JEE Main answer key contains the correct answer to all questions asked in the exam. The official answer keys and question papers of JEE Main are made available under the respective logins of the candidates.

Official JEE Main 2022 answer keys are also available for challenge. Challenging the answer key can be done online on the official website. After the scrutiny of the challenges received, NTA releases the final JEE Main answer key with changes, if any. The final answer key cannot be challenged further. Based on the answers in the final answer key, the JEE Main result is prepared.

JEE Main 2022 Cutoff

JEE Main 2022 cutoff means the minimum marks candidates need to obtain to sit for JEE Advanced. NAT release this cutoff after the final session of JEE Main 2022 is over. The cutoff marks vary category-wise. The cutoff marks will be the minimum percentile marks needed. This year the top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main 2022, will be able to register for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2022 Result

JEE Main 2022 result will be announced by NTA on its official website. JEE Main result 2022 will contain the name of appeared candidates, marks obtained and rank secured in the entrance test etc. Aspirants can download JEE Main 2022 scorecard by entering their application number and date of birth/password on the login window. The rank cards are prepared on the basis of the normalised marks secured in JEE Main exam.

Note that the All India Rank of the candidates will be based on the best performance of the candidates out of both sessions. Therefore the AIR will be available after the July sessions exams end with the final result.

Yes. Students with valid JEE Main scores can apply for admissions through the WBJEE counselling. However, these students will be eligible for allotment only in the 10% approved seats offered by the self-financing colleges and institutes participating in the state-level counselling.
