If you prepare for one of the toughest entrances, it becomes quite easy for you to crack. Universities like VIT, BITS, KIIT, SRM, and AMITY, etc. have top class faculties and also offer great placements.
In my opinion from what I have experienced, one should not go for a drop year. Nowadays, for JEE, you have two chances to test your abilities and come to a conclusion from the exams held in January and another one which is supposed to take place in the month of April. If you have really prepared well then you might be able to get through in at least any of the good government institutions after the two attempts. I will suggest you to wait for the counselling and you may try your luck in various rounds as sometimes it also happens that caste also plays a crucial stage.

Be wise while selecting for the slots and preferences and if possible, be flexible in it. With low scores also, you can apply in top private universities and pursue your dream with the branch you wanted to. There are universities which conduct their own entrances and take admissions accordingly. If you prepare for one of the toughest entrances, it becomes quite easy for you to crack. Universities like VIT, BITS, KIIT, SRM, and AMITY, etc. have top class faculties and also offer great placements.
After few years, you may realise the importance of not dropping a year. If you make into IIT’s or NIT’s after taking a gap, it will be good but if you fail to do so, it will not leave a good impression. There are many good private companies which only allow a gap of one year in your complete academic career and there are some which don’t even allow that.
If you are that much obsessed to go into a IIT’s/NIT’s, take admission in any good institute and after that, you can wait for the JEE counselling results.
We know that every year a huge number of students apply for JEE and very few of them are able to make into it. It doesn’t mean that the rest of those will not achieve anything big in their life. It’s just an exam and we should not think that everything is over rather we should focus on other things also and take decisions wisely.
