Overview

Preparing for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) requires a strategic, skill-based approach focused on reading comprehension, critical thinking, and time management. Success relies on consistent daily newspaper reading, practicing sectional tests, and thoroughly analyzing mock exams. The Consortium of NLUs has not announced the CLAT Exam Date 2027 yet.

Q:   How can I get the CLAT Syllabus PDF?

Candidates can access the CLAT 2027 syllabus on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The Consortium has not released the CLAT Notification yet. Once it is published, the syllabus will also be announced. 

Q:   Who releases the CLAT Syllabus?
A: 

The CLAT Syllabus is published by the Consortium. The syllabus has been announced. Candidates who are preparing for the exam must note that there are no changes made in the syllabus so far.  Candidates can check the syllabus by visiting the official website. You can only download the PDF from website.

Q:   Can I complete CLAT Syllabus in a month?
A: 

While it is not impossible, it is a really challenging task. To score well, you must start preparing for CLAT at least six months before. It is very important to score well if you are looking forward to getting into good NLU. For top 10 NLU, you at least need to score between 100 to 105 as per past trends.

The CLAT exam syllabus will have five sections, namely English language, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, general knowledge, current affairs, and quantitative techniques.   • There will be reading passages of 450 words based on news, journalistic sources and other non-fiction writings
Legal Reasoning
  • Proficiency will be tested based on a general awareness of contemporary legal and moral issues
  • Questions will be based on legal matters, public policy and moral philosophical enquiries
  • There will be reading passages of 450 words based on fact-based situations or legal, public policy and moral scenarios
Logical Reasoning
  • Important topics for the section are relationshipsanalogieslogical sequences, and arguments
  • There will be a reading passage of around 300 words
  • Candidates have to critically analyse the arguments given in the passage, identify the pattern of reasoning, and then conclude the arguments
Quantitative Techniques
  • The section will carry a short sets of passages based on facts, graphs, propositions, pictorials, textuals, or diagrammatic representations of numerical data
  • Important topics for the section are ratios and proportionsbasic algebramensuration, and statistics

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) will release the CLAT 2027 exam pattern for UG and PG courses on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. According to the CLAT exam pattern, there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating the total marks of a candidate. Hence, if candidates are not sure about the answer of a question, it is better to leave it unattempted rather than doing a guess work, to avoid negative marking.

Q:   How many questions are there in CLAT Exam?

No, candidates who apply for BBA LLB (hons) admissions at NMIMS Mumbai through CLAT-UG are not required to appear in NLAT to qualify. 

During selection process, such candidates will be selected based on CLAT-UG scores only for BBA LLB (hons) admission.

No, CLAT is not compulsory for BA LLB at Jain University. The university accepts JET-LAW and AILET scores as well along with CLAT. The selection is based on entrance merit and interview performance.

No, aspirants do not require CLAT score for admission in BA LLB (Hons) course. Candidates can get admission in BA LLB (Hons) programme based on their merit. They only need to meet eligibility i.e. Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate for admission.
