Karnataka PGCET 2024: Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the revised dares for PGCET 2024 exam. MBA and MCA exam will be conducted on August 4. KEA will soon release the Karnataka PGCET exam date for ME and MTech courses. In addition to release of the exam date, KEA has notified the Karnataka PGCET admit card download date. All applicants will be able to access the Karnataka PGCET login for admit card download from July 27 onwards.

Commencing this session, KEA is conducting the Karnataka PGCET 2024 exam as a computer based test from centres. With five sections in Karnataka PGCET MBA and MCA exams, candidates will have to answer 100 MCQs within 120 minutes.

Q:   Are there different sections in Karnataka PGCET exam?

A:

Yes there are four sections in the Karnataka PGCET exam. Each of the section in the PGCET exam will have 25 multiple choice questions. Each MCQ carries 1 mark, while no negative marking is prevelant. The sections included in the KArnataka PGCET exam for MBA course admission are as follows:

  • Proficiency in English Language
  • General Knowledge
  • Reasoning and General Intelligence
  • Quantitative Analysis

Since all the sections have equal weighatge, candidates must consider each section equially important during the preparation phase.

Q:   What are the sections in Karnataka PGCET exam?

A:

The Karnataka PGCET syllabus is based on the topics from four different sections, namely

  • Proficiency in English Language
  • General Knowledge
  • Reasoning and General Intelligence
  • Quantitative Analysis

All the sections in the Karnataka PGCET exam have equal weightage in terms of number of questions and marks. Each section of Karnataka PGCET exam has 25 questions compiling a total of 100 questions in the MBA exam. There will be no sectional timelimit; hence candidates will be able to answer questions from the desired section anytime within the exam duration.

Q:   How many questions will be there in each section of the Karnataka PGCET exam?

A:

As per the Karnataka PGCET exam pattern, each section of the exam for MBA course will have as many as 25 questions. All questions in the PGCET exam will carry one mark each. Since all sections of the PGCET exam will have a similar weightage in terms of marks and number of questions, all the sections hold equal importance.

Candidates have 120 minutes to answer all the multiple-choice questions of Karnataka PGCET exam. It is compulsory to answer all the questions. Candidates will not get the option to select questions in the question paper. The exam is held in offline mode.

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria 2024

KEA conducts the PGCET exam for admission to MBA courses offered by institutes situated in Karnataka. PGCET eligibility criteria for MBA admission is as follows:

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria for Full-Time MBA

  • Candidates having a three-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised institute are eligible for admissions based on PGCET exam.
  • UR category candidates should have a minimum aggregate score of 50 per cent in the qualifying exam. On the contrary, reserved category candidates are eligible with a minimum aggregate score of 45 per cent.

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria for Part-Time MBA

In addition to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria of full-time MBA course, candidates aspiring for part-time MBA course based on PGCET scores must have:

Q:   What is the marking scheme of the Karnataka PGCET exam?

A:

For every right answer, candidates will be awarded one mark in Karnataka PGCET 2024 exam while for the wrong answers, no marks will be deducted. The total marks of the Karnataka PGCET 2024 exam are 100. Candidates get 120 minutes to answer all the multiple-choice questions. It is compulsory to answer all the questions in the Karnataka PGCET exam. Candidates will not get the option to select questions in the question paper. To score maximum marks, it is important to answer questions with accuracy. No marks are awarded in case of selection of multiple answers.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in Karnataka PGCET?

A:

No there is no negative marking in the exam. Each cprre ct answer will fetch 1 marks whereas the Karnatka PGCET exam has no negative marking for wrong answers marked. The Karnataka PGCET syllabus is based on the topics from four different sections: Proficiency in English Language, General Knowledge, Reasoning and General Intelligence, and Quantitative Analysis. Each of these section will have 25 multiple choice questions. Candidates need to choose one answer option out of four choices for each question.

  • Three years of work experience in the relevant field on or before July 31 of the admission session.
  • Current employer of the aspirant must be located within 40 KM radial distance from the college of MBA admission.

Karnataka PGCET Application Form 2024

KEA commences the Karnataka PGCET registration online on the official website, i.e. cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Candidates have to pay an application fee to submit the online application form. The online application process for Karnataka PGCET 2024 requires the candidates to provide personal details, academic details, along with the communication details.

KEA releases the Karnataka PGCET 2024 admit card for all the applicants. Candidates must carry a hard copy of the PGCET admit card on the exam day. Failing to carry the admit card will lead to denial in entry to the exam hall. Candidates are able to download the Karnataka PGCET hall ticket by following the stepwise process below:

No, Karnataka PGCET is not compulsory to take admission in VTU. KPGCET is one of the accepted exams for admission in VTU. But, VTU also accepts other exams such as CAT/XAT/KMAT/CMAT, etc. for its MBA admission.
