MAT 2023 exam will be conducted in CBT and PBT mode this February. Check COVID-19 related guidelines for MAT to be followed at the test centre. Even though the cases are minimal now, the COVID-19 safety guidelines issued by the Government of India still being followed public gatherings including the MAT exam centres.

MAT exams for PBT and CBT modes are being conducted for February 2023 phase at various exam centres. At the MAT centres, COVID-19 protocols are still being followed. Check COVID-19 related guidelines for MAT exam issued by AIMA.

MAT exam day guidelines

MAT Paper Based Test (PBT) and Computer Based Test (CBT) are conducted at various exam centres with COVID-19 protocols defined by the Government of India. AIMA has been conducting MAT exams in PBT and CBT modes all the safety measures since 2020 due to coronavirus pandemic. Even though the cases are minimal now, the COVID-19 safety guidelines issued by the Government of India still being followed at public gatherings including the MAT exam centres. The procedure for MAT February 2023 PBT/CBT will also be along standard lines.

Candidates will be required to follow certain COVID-19 related guidelines on the MAT 2023 exam day. Those found not cooperating with the test centre staff or showing disregard to the guidelines may be disqualified. So, it is important for the aspirants to know all the guidelines related to the exam day so as to not flout any unknowingly.

Q:   What were the MAT exam dates 2024?
A:

MAT is conducted multiple times in a year. MAT 2024 exam dates were announced phase wise - February, May, August and December. Candidates will be allowed to register for multiple mode and multiple attempts. The MAT December 2024 dates are given below:

Q:   How will I know the address of my MAT test centre?
A:
The address of MAT test centre will be mentioned in the admit card only, which means candidates will know the venue/location of their MAT test centre only after they downloading their MAT admit card. The exam authorities will not share the details of any exam centre before the release of the MAT admit card. The MAT CBT and MAT PBT are held in separate cities and the centre is allotted to candidates in the first city of preference as mentioned in the MAT application form. Thus, candidates already know the city in which they will be allotted the test centre. The MAT admit card is released at least two days before the exam so that candidates can download it on time and check the exact location of the test centre allotted to them to make arrangement for the exam day. If any student belongs to a rural area and their MAT test centre falls in a city, they can make arrangements beforehand if they know to which city they have to go for appearing in the exam.
Q:   What are the items/documents to carry on the MAT exam day?
A:
On the MAT exam day, PBT and CBT candidates have to visit the examination centre well prepared. Apart from carrying two hard copies of the MAT admit card, they need to also carry a photo ID proof issued by the Government of India. The documents that are included in the list of approve IDs are: 1. Aadhaar Card 2. PAN Card 3. Voter ID Card 4. Passport 5. Driving License 6. University ID Candidates have to carry the original copy of any of these IDs to the exam centre for identification process. IBT mode candidates are also required to present any of these IDs for identification to remote proctored mode. Candidates belonging to PwD category have to carry PwD and scribe certificates too on the exam day. Any candidate suffering from any medical condition which requires them to eat or have medicine during the exam, has to carry a Certificate regarding the same issued by a competent authority. Apart from the documents, candidate are required to carry blue/black ball point pen for signing the attendance sheet and filling the OMR sheet (PBT mode). No other stationary item will be allowed inside the MAT exam centre.

MAT Exam Day Instructions & COVID-19 Safety Guidelines for CBT/PBT 2023

  • To ensure physical distancing at the MAT test centre entrance, different reporting times will be given to batches of candidates.
  • Candidates have to fill the self-declaration form confirming that they do not have COVID-like symptoms and have not come in contact with anybody who tested positive.
  • Candidates will have to present the self-declaration form attached with the MAT admit card at the main entry. They will be allowed to enter only after they submit the same.
  • Body temperature of each candidate will be checked using thermo gun, and they will not be allowed inside the MAT test centre if their body temperature is higher than normal.
  • Candidates must not come to MAT test centre in case they are sick or even having any symptoms of sickness such as fever, cough, cold, headache, etc.
  • MAT CBT and PBT are conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Candidates must reach the test centre latest by 8:30 AM before the entry gate is closed.

Documents Required at the MAT Exam Centre

  • COVID-19 Self-declaration in the format made available to candidates along with MAT 2023 admit card.
  • Two printouts of the MAT admit card 2023
  • Any valid original Photo ID proof such as:
    • Voter ID Card
    • PAN Card
    • Driving License
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Passport
    • Photo ID card issued by the government
    • Photo ID card issued by any recognized educational institution, etc.
  • Copy of disability certificate issued by a competent authority (For PWD candidates)

Personal Items to Carry at MAT Exam Centre

  • Suitable/standard mask that covers nose and mouth properly
  • Hand sanitizer in a transparent bottle
  • Ball-point pen (black/blue)
  • Adequate quantity of drinking water in transparent bottle only

Precautions to take at MAT Exam Centre

  • Wear a suitable/standard mask covering nose and mouth properly before entering the test centre and keep it on until you exit after the test.
  • Sanitize hands with sanitizer just before entering the MAT test centre gates and also periodically during the test as necessary.
  • Follow physical distancing guideline and keep safe distance from other candidates as well as the test centre staff.
  • The MAT test centre staff are allowed to do only contactless frisking only. Hence, do not allow frisking by physical touch.

Q:   How will I know about MAT GD/PI schedule?
A:
The MBA institute will send Group Discussion GD and Personal Interview . PI letter to each candidate who had selected the institute in MAT application form upon their selection based on MAT cut offs. The candidate should keep checking their email ID mentioned in MAT application form. The letters/emails have GD/PI dates, time and venue mentioned on it along with other details related to the GD/PI process. If a candidate wishes to apply at college other than the ones they had selected in the MAT form, then they should visit the website of their desired MBA college and check the application schedule. Once they will fill the application form, they will be informed about the GD/PI schedule via email. Candidates must keep handy the MAT admit card, MAT scorecard, academic certificates, passport size colored photographs, original and requisite fee amount for admission on the day of Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
