The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of NLUs. The CLAT Exam is held in offline mode from 2 pm to 4 pm for admission to 25 NLUs and other participating universities. The CLAT 2027 Registration will start on August 1, 2026. Before that, the CLAT Notification will be published.

Q:   Can I prepare for CLAT Exam in one week?

Though CLAT Preparation takes months of practice, it is still not impossible. You can prepare for the CLAT Exam in one week with a correct and dedicated focus. But you should have at least some understanding of concepts to clear the exam. 

Q:   Can I fill CLAT Application Form through mobile phone?
A: 

See, it doesn't matter that you fill the form through laptop or phone. What matters is you fill the form. Yes, you should have good network connection and internet speed. It should not happen that you have filled the form and when you reach the last step you loose the connection. So what is important is network connection not the phone or laptop to fill the application form. 

Q:   If I forget my CLAT Login ID or password. How should I fill the application form?
A: 

You don't have to worry. In case you have forgotten your ID and password, which is pretty much normal. You can go and click on the forgot password tab in the registration window. You will receive the mail and then you have to reset your password. Once day you will be able to login. 

Q:   How many questions are there in CLAT Exam?
A: 

In CLAT Exam there will be 120 questions. The exam paper will be in MCQ format. Candidates will get 120 minutes to complete the paper. Since there is a negative marking candidates must attempt carefully.

CLAT Application Process 2027

Candidates must note that there is no provision to complete the registration in offline mode. The CLAT Registration will likely close on October 30, 2026. Candidates can follow the simple steps given below to fill out the CLAT Application Form

  • After logging in, select the program of study 5-year LLB or one-year LLB
  • Start by entering personal information, communication details, qualifying examination status, exam centre preferences and reservation. Check what all documents should be uploaded and their prescribed specification below.

  • Submit the form - Once the details are duly filled, agree to the declaration, give consent and submit the form.    
  • Pay the application fee - Submit the application fee using credit/ debit cards or net banking. Note that in addition to the exam fee, students will have to pay an additional INR 500 if they want to opt for previous years' question papers.

In order to know if you are eligible or not check the official notification and the eligibility criteria. There is no other way to check the the eligibility criteria.  Do not fill the form without checking the eligibility criteria. 

Q:   Is CLAT based on NCERT books?
A: 

CLAT is not directly based on the NCERT curriculum, but NCERT books act as a strong foundational resource for Quantitative Techniques and basic static GK. Candidates appearing for board exams can prepare for CLAT side by side. 

Q:   What is the last date to fill CLAT Application Form 2027?
A: 

The Consortium has not announced the last date to submit the CLAT Application Form yet. However, once the application process starts it mostly remain opens for three months. This gives candidates sufficient time to complete it and submit. 

Q:   I forgot to submit CLAT Application Fees. What should I do?
A: 

Even with all the right documents, if you have not paid the application fee, your application form will be rejected. Since the application process cannot complete without submiting the fees. Once the window closes you won't be able to pay the fees or re fill the form.

CLAT 2027 Question Paper Highlights & Syllabus

The CLAT 2027 UG examination paper will carry questions in Multiple Choice Questions Format. As per the CLAT Marking Scheme, one mark will be awarded for each correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer

CLAT Question Paper 2027 will carry different sections like GK, Mathematics, English, Legal & Logical Reasoning. The UG CLAT syllabus and PG CLAT syllabus are completely different.

Once the CLAT Exam is over, the Consortium will publish the CLAT Answer Key 2027. The exam authority publishes the CLAT Answer Key in two steps. Firstly, the Provisional Answer Key and then the Final Answer Key. Yes, candidate can challenge CLAT Answer Key. The Consortium will release the provisional answer key for CLAT first after which it will open a window to invite objections. After receiving the objection, the final CLAT answer key was published.  Note that, unlike the provisional key, the final key can't be challenged. So, the keys included in the final keys will be considered the correct keys for questions asked in the CLAT exam.

CLAT Counselling 2027

DeskCalendarCounselling: To be notified

The Consortium will announce the CLAT Counselling Dates along with the results. During the CLAT 2027 counselling process, candidates can accept, upgrade, or exit their allotted seat in any counselling round. Once their choice of seat is allotted, they can complete their admission by paying the counselling and admission fee as required. 

Documents Required for Counselling

Students must provide the following documents during CLAT 2027 Counselling for verification of eligibility before final admission

For UG Candidates:

  • Class 10 Marksheet
  • Class 12 Scorecard
  • Admit Card
  • Character Certificate/Conduct Certificate
  • Transfer/Migration Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Specially-Abled Certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other supporting document (for categories like Wards of Serving/Retired Defence Personnel, EWS, Ex-servicemen/Defence personnel, etc.)

For PG Candidates:

  • Class 10 Marksheet
  • Class 12 Marksheet
  • CLAT PG 2027 Admit Card
  • LLB Marksheet
  • Character Certificate/Conduct Certificate
  • Transfer/Migration Certificate

Q:   What if I am not satisfied with the CLAT seat allotment?
A: 

If the candidates is not satisfied with the CLAT seat allotment result, they can either accept or opt for upgradingt the college alloted. The Freeze option is used by candidates to confirm their choice of NLU. Apply for upgrade option is used when candidates want to change the allotted institute to his or her higher choice (upward shifting).

Q:   What is CLAT Invite List?
A: 

The Consortium of NLUs publish the CLAT Invite List that will carry important details like roll number of the candidates who have scored high enough to be shortlisted the counselling process, their total marks and other details. With this candidates will be able to register for seat allotment in National Law Universities (NLUs) for UG and PG programs.

Q:   Can I appear for CLAT Counselling if I failed to clear the exam?
A: 

No, you can not appear for counselling if you have not cleared CLAT Exam.

Q:   Where can I get CLAT syllabus PDF?
A: 

Candidates can access the CLAT 2027 syllabus on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The Consortium has not released the CLAT Notification yet. Once it is published, the syllabus will also be announced. 

Q:   What level of math questions are asked in CLAT?
A: 

Candidates must note that the math questions in the CLAT exam are mostly from Class 10th mathematics. The section will have 10-14 questions. Candidates must cover topics like percentages, ratios, averages, profit/loss, and basic algebra.

Q:   Is CLAT syllabus difficult?
A: 

The CLAT syllabus is considered challenging due to its comprehensive, passage-based nature. Candidates will have to solve the questions within two hour time limit for 120 questions. The syllabus is tough and exam is difficult to crack.

Q:   Which are the best books for the Quantitative Aptitude section for CLAT exam?
A: 

For the CLAT 2027 Quantitative Techniques section, candidates must focus on the 10th-grade data interpretation and arithmetic.

No, CLAT is not compulsory to take admission in Ishaan Institute of Law. The institute offers admission into the courses such as LLB, BA LLB and LLM based on the merit achieved by the candidates in their last qualifying exam. Application process is compulsory and it can be conducted online/offline.
