Candidates are advised to keep their scorecards safe till the admission process concludes. A copy of JEE Main result will be required at time of counselling and admission process in the institute.

JEE Main 2026 Rank List: How is the All India Rank Decided?
NTA assigns ranks to candidates based on final NTA score of candidates, which is released after JEE Mains session 2 result. Candidate with a higher percentile is placed higher in rank list, and so on. All candidates are arranged in descending order of their final total NTA score.
Tie Breaking in JEE Main 2026: There is a possibility that two or more candidates obtain same score in JEE Main 2026 exam. In such cases, ranks of candidates will be determined by using a tie-breaking rule mentioned below:

Cancellation and Rechecking of JEE Main 2026 Results
NTA will not entertain any requests for rechecking of JEE Main 2026 result. Candidates are allowed to challenge the provisional JEE Main answer keys 2026, and after that, no objections from the candidates about their marks in the exam will be accepted.
NTA can cancel the result of the candidates in following situations:
- NTA has clearly mentioned that the JEE Main 2026 result of the candidate who indulges in Unfair Means Practices will be cancelled and will not be declared.
- Â Also, the result of those candidates who appear from the centre other than the one allotted to them or allow another candidate/person to write the examination on their behalf will be cancelled.
- Any candidate who appears in a session more than once will lead to cancellation of their candidature and will be debarred as per the relevant UFM clause.

How NTA Prepares JEE Main Result 2026?
The JEE Main result is prepared by converting the raw marks of the candidates out of the aggregate marks in the exam into percentile scores. The percentile calculation is done for each subject - Maths, Physics, Chemistry and also the overall score is converted to percentile marks.
How does NTA convert raw marks into NTA score (Percentile score)
NTA score and percentile score are the same thing. NTA has a fixed formula to convert the raw score of the candidates into a percentile score or the NTA score. The formula is as follows:

Conversion of raw score into percentile score: The raw scores of candidates are converted to percentile scores in each subject, and also aggregate raw score is converted to percentile marks. This is done in both sessions of exam.

- JEE Main 2026 cutoff marks for JEE Advanced 2026 are also published.
- Toppers are announced. All candidates who get 100 percentile in exam are named toppers of JEE Main exam.

- Click on âJEE Main 2026 resultâ link.
- Enter application number, password/ date of birth and security pin.
- Click on 'Submit'.
- On next page check JEE Main Result 2026 and score.
The JEE Main counselling for BTech admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs is organised by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) in June. To participate in the JoSAA counselling seat allotment process, candidates have to register online. The allotment of seats will be based on All India Ranks in JEE Main. Candidates can check more details regarding JoSAA seat allotment dates and admission process from the official website josaa.nic.in.
JEE Main counselling do have the provision of mock seat allotment. JoSAA will conduct a total of two rounds mock seat allotment where candidates can check which college they get based on the choice filled by them. Candidates after registering for the counselling have to enter their preferred choice of college and branch in the order of preference. The allotment of seats will be made on the basis of All India Rank and choices filled by the candidate.

During the process of document verification in JoSAA, if there is any mismatch between the document uploaded earlier by the candidate JEE Main registration site, JEE Advanced registration site and the document uploaded by the candidate on the JoSAA portal, the offer of admission will be withdrawn. The candidates shall be debarred from further rounds of seat allocation. Thus, the candidate will forfeit the eligibility for admissions to any of the institutes through JoSAA. The decision of JoSAA on this issue shall be final and binding.

No. There is no qualifying percentile in JEE Main. However, the candidates who want to appear in JEE Advanced will have to get a minimum qualifying percentile in JEE Mains. This minimum qualifying percentile is announced with the JEE Main session 2 reult.
