
JKCET 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) conducts the Common Entrance Test, referred to as JKCET, for admission to UG engineering courses offered by various government and private institutes in J&K. JKBOPEE will release the JKCET application form 2026 tentatively in March. The JKCET 2026 exam is expected to be held in April 2026.

What is JKCET?
JKCET is the engineering entrance exam conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) to shortlist candidates for admission to various UG programs in engineering offered by government and private institutes in J&K. The exam is held for candidates who have passed or are passing class 12 exam in the current year as that of the exam. The allotment of seats is based on JKCET scores, reservations and preferences submitted by the candidates during counselling. The seats are allotted via an online counselling process.

JKCET Eligibility Criteria 2026
The JKCET eligibility is given below:
Domicile: Candidates must have the domicile certificate of UT of J&K or ST certificate issued by a competent Authority of UT of Ladakh to be treated as a Domicile certificate of UT of Ladakh.
Age: There is no upper age bar for appearing in the Entrance Test for admission to Engineering Courses, both in Government and Private Colleges.
Qualification: Candidates must
- have passed Hr. Sec. Part II (12th/10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised statutory Board/University.
- have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations in Physics, Chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects having 45% marks for Open Merit Category candidates, including the Children of Defence Personnel, Children of Para-Military Forces, Children of Police personnel, Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) of UT of J&K/Ladakh and candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in Sports. 40% marks for the reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST and other Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (PSP/IB/RBA/ALC/OSC).

Once the application form is submitted and the application fee is paid, the forms cannot be accessed for editing or any sort of correction.
