
JKCET 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has extended the last date to fill JKCET application form 2026. Interested candidates can now apply online until April 3, 2026 using the link on this page. The last date to fill JKCET 2026 application form and payment of fees is April 3. The JKCET 2026 exam is yet to be announced. The exam is expected to be held in April 2026.
Candidates preparing for the exam can check JKCET syllabus and exam pattern on this page. Questions in the exam will be asked from class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Maths. JKCET question paper will have a total 180 MCQ questions, 60 from each subjects to be completed in 3 hours. The exam will be conducted in offline mode.

What is JKCET?
JKCET is the engineering entrance exam conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) to shortlist candidates for admission to various UG programs in engineering offered by government and private institutes in J&K. The exam is held for candidates who have passed or are passing class 12 exam in the current year as that of the exam. The allotment of seats is based on JKCET scores, reservations and preferences submitted by the candidates during counselling. The seats are allotted via an online counselling process.

JKCET Eligibility Criteria 2026
The JKCET eligibility is given below:
Domicile: Candidates must have the domicile certificate of UT of J&K or ST certificate issued by a competent Authority of UT of Ladakh to be treated as a Domicile certificate of UT of Ladakh.
Age: There is no upper age bar for appearing in the Entrance Test for admission to Engineering Courses, both in Government and Private Colleges.
Qualification: Candidates must
- have passed Hr. Sec. Part II (12th/10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised statutory Board/University.
- have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations in Physics, Chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects having 45% marks for Open Merit Category candidates, including the Children of Defence Personnel, Children of Para-Military Forces, Children of Police personnel, Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) of UT of J&K/Ladakh and candidates possessing outstanding proficiency in Sports. 40% marks for the reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST and other Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (PSP/IB/RBA/ALC/OSC).
- be appearing/appeared in the 10+2 (12th Class) annual examination 2026 can also apply to appear in CET-2026, provided such candidates shall have to qualify for the 10+2 examination as per the above-mentioned eligibility at the time of declaration of the result of entrance test/at the date of admission or as may be notified by the Board.
JKCET Admission Process
The JKCET admission process is given below:
- Candidates have to apply for admission as per their eligibility.
- Registered candidates can download admit card under their respective logins.
- Candidates have to appear for entrance exam in offline mode from the centre allotted to them.
- JKCET 2026 result will be announced online, candidates can login to official website and download their scorecard.
- As per the counselling schedule, candidates have to attend counselling.

Application fee: INR 1000 to be paid using the online payment method (“Integrated Payment Gateway” with the help of any National Credit Card/Debit Card/facility).
Documents to be uploaded in the online application form: All the documents to be uploaded in the online form must be s from 100-200 KB in size.
- Certificate of residence proof of domicile UT of J&K or Ladakh as the case may be
- Marks certificate of the qualifying examination issued by the concerned Board
- Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate indicating Date of Birth issued by the respective Boards
- The category candidates claiming benefit of any reserved category including Sports, JKPM, CDP and TFW have to upload a copy of their category certificate along with the Online Application Form within the prescribed last date. However, their eligibility shall be considered at par with Open Merit candidates.
Photo/Signature/Thumb Impression:
- The candidates have to upload a recent Photo a scanned copy of the Signature and Thumb Impression.
- The maximum size of the photograph/signature/thumb impression to be from 10 - 50 KB.
