
BITSAT 2026: Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is an entrance test for admission to undergraduate programmes offered at BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. It tests candidate's aptitute in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English proficiency and logical reasoning. The authority conducts the exam in two sessions. The BITSAT 2026 exam date has been revised for session 1 to April 15 & 16, the session 2 date is May 24 to 26, 2026.

What is BITSAT?
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is one of India’s most sought-after national entrance exams for engineering. BITS Pilani conducts the BITSAT exam for admission to undergraduate programs like Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), and integrated Master’s courses in science and technology across the BITS campuses. Over the years, BITSAT has become popular not only for admission into the prestigious BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad, but also for the exam and merit-based selection process. The BITSAT exam is conducted in online mode, and around 1.5 lakh students apply for it every year. The authorities also offer direct admissions for board toppers who meet the required eligibility criteria.

BITSAT 2026 Slot Booking & Test City Allotment
Slot Booking: 13 May ' 26 - 15 May ' 26
The authority has announced the BITSAT 2026 slot booking dates online. The slot booking facility for BITSAT 2026 will be available separately for each session. For session 1, the slot booking date is March 29 to 31, and for session 2 it is May 13 to 15.
Students must use the slot booking facility to book their preferred exam slots. To book slots, students will have to log in with their application number and password. Once preferred slots are booked, they cannot make any changes. The BITSAT slot booking should be completed as soon as possible so that they can get their preferred slot. Once slots are booked, authorities will not accept any requests to make any changes. In case candidates fail to book their slots, then they will be automatically allotted as per availability. - On homescreen, check link for slot booking.
- On login screen, enter application number and password.

BITSAT 2026 City Intimation
The authorities have announced the BITSAT city allotment on March 29. Through the BITSAT city allotment 2026, candidates can check and confirm where their exam will be held. Candidates have to check the admit card to know the complete exam centre address. The BITSAT test city allotment is available on the website, admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in.
BITSAT Exam Pattern 2026
The authority has released the BITSAT 2026 exam pattern online through its official notification. Candidates must check the BITSAT exam pattern to understand the test format, marking scheme, duration and more. BITSAT 2026 will be held as an online test. During the exam, students have to solve 130 objective questions. For every correct answer, 3 marks will be given. For incorrect answers, one mark will be deducted.

Additional Questions in BITSAT
Those who attempt all 130 questions in the BITSAT exam before the time ends will be able to attempt 12 additional questions. Once they start answering additional questions, they cannot go back to their previous section and edit it. Three questions from each section will be prepared as additional questions.

As the BITSAT 2026 exam dates have been announced, students should now have a clear view on how to prepare for exam. Students can choose preferred BITSAT exam centre while filling application form. Preferred exam cities have to be selected in order of preference. Based on preferences, exam centres will be given to students.
BITS Pilani will announce the BITSAT test centre allotment to let the students know their allotted test centres. After checking their allotted test centre, the students will be able to choose the preferred exam slot from the available ones at their centre. The exam slots have to be booked through the BITSAT slot booking facility.
BITS, Pilani, holds the BITSAT examination in two shifted sessions. The timings for the morning session are from 9 AM to 12 PM, and others are from 2 PM to 5 PM in the afternoon session. Candidates can select the BITSAT slot timings using the BITSAT slot booking system.
No. The BITS Pilani authorities do not announce the list of BITSAT toppers. However, if the list of toppers is released, the students will be able to access it here. Students will be scored as per their performance in the exam. If both exam sessions are attempted, then the best score will be considered for admission.
No. BITS Pilani will not release the application form offline. Students will have to fill out the form online at the official website. All of the required details have to be submitted online and the fee has to be paid. No other mode of application will be accepted.
Yes. There will be no separate counselling process for the different BITS campuses. Students will have to participate in the centralized counselling for admissions into their preferred campuses. The list of preferences have to be submitted during counselling for allotment.
BITSAT merit list will be prepared after checking performance of students in exam. Merit list will be released as admit and wait list. Students in admit list will be eligible for admission, while those in wait list will be called in for next round of allotment.
BITSAT evaluates the candidates’ language skills in English. Students should prepare sections like grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing.
BITSAT 2026 seat allotment dates will be released at official website. Students can check their allotment status in form of iterations. To check allotment, students will have to log in with the required details.
At the exam centre, the students will have to bring their BITSAT admit card along with one valid identity proof for verification. No soft copies will be accepted so the students will have to bring print outs. If these documents are not shown at the centre, the students will not be allowed to enter the centre to attempt the exam.
BITSAT application fee has to be paid to be registered for entrance exam. Fee has to be paid through credit card/debit card/net banking/ICICI payment gateway. Offline payments will not be accepted.
Yes, the students will be able to correct/edit their submitted details through the online BITSAT application correction facility. However, all information will be open for corrections. Students should login and make the corrections within the allotted timeline. For every exam session, a separate correction facility will be open.
For session 1 and both sessions the BITSAT 2026 application form last date is March 16, 2026. The last date to submit the application form for session 2 is May 2, 2026. Students must apply before the last date otherwise, they will not be issued the admit card.
If students forget to book their BITSAT exam slot, then authorities will automatically allot them from available slots. Once slots are allotted, candidates cannot request authorities to change it. Candidates are advised to complete slot booking themselves.
BITSAT additional questions will be available for students if they finish answering all 130 questions and still have time left. No additional time will be given to complete additional 12 questions. This allows students to score extra marks in exam.
The BITSAT question paper is divided into four section. For the Mathematics/Biology section, there will be 40 questions. Physics and Chemistry will have 30 questions in each section. Logical Reasoning will have 20 and English Proficiency will have 10 questions. There will 130 questions in the question paper.
