NEET Chapter-wise Weightage

NEET Chapter-wise Weightage

NEET Chapter-wise weightage 2026: The NEET 2026 exam will be conducted by NTA in the first week of May 2026. If you are planning to appear for the exam, you must be preparing hard for it. Along with hard work, smart work is also an important factor to crack this highly competitive medical entrance exam. By smart work, we mean knowing the NEET chapter-wise weightage of the past years.

While it is important to complete the NEET syllabus, it is also important to note down the NEET chapter-wise weightage for Physics, Chemistry and Biology to know which topics to emphasise on, and which you can leave out or put low priority on.

The chapter wise weightage for NEET PDF by NTA is not released officially, but based on the NEET analysis by experts, it can be deduced. The NEET 2025 chapter-wise weightage is provided here on this page as per the NEET 2025 analysis by experts. However, here is a caveat. There is no assurance that NTA will follow the same chapter-wise weightage for NEET every year. Hence, you are advised to learn all the topics of the NEET syllabus at least at a basic level. As has been observed by experts, NEET tests your conceptual clarity rather than memorising ability.

Take a look at the chapter-wise weightage for NEET 2025 PDF by NTA here on this page. We also provide subject-wise NEET analysis 2025 for students so that they can learn about the overall difficulty level and types of questions that are asked in the NEET question paper. Since there is less than a year left for NEET 2026, you must know about the NEET chapter-wise weightage and accordingly make the preparation strategy and timetable.

It is expected that the NEET 2026 syllabus will also be the same as last year. Since the change in the syllabus has been brought after much deliberation, it is expected to remain the same for the upcoming years of NEET.

How to Prepare for NEET 2026 Chapter-wise Weightage

While students are primarily advised to complete the NEET syllabus thoroughly, the next level would include the proper allocation of time, energy and resources to focus on the high weightage topics of NEET. To achieve that, experts suggest the following tips:

  • Compare previous years' NEET question papers: Make a list of topics which were covered in each subject for the past five to six years. This will give you an idea of the NEET chapters with high weightage over a consistent period. Prioritise those topics while preparing.
  • Take sectional mock tests: Students are advised to take full-length mock tests once they complete the entire syllabus of NEET 2025. But to gain expertise over chapters or topics, taking section-wise NEET mock tests comes in handy as it gives exposure to varied question types. Moreover, after each sectional mock tests, they should get it analysed by their teachers to understand and mitigate common mistakes, as well as deduce a more effective question-solving method.
  • Select the right Books: While there are a plethora of NEET preparation books available, one must select those which has quality content with the latest syllabus, proper description and explanation as well as practice questions.
  • Regular revision: Regular revision is the key to any exam preparation. To ace NEET chapters with high weightage, students must regularly revise those chapters and topics and solve as many questions as possible so that they do not go out of touch on these areas.
Now that students are aware of the high-weightage chapters for NEET 2025, it is time to devise the preparation strategy in terms of time to be allotted for each section, practice, revision, etc. While taking NEET mock tests or solving previous years' question papers, they should decide on the test-taking strategy. Based on the chapter-wise weightage for NEET, aspirants can decide which questions to attempt and which to skip. However, students must note that the chapter-wise weightage for NEET provided above is based on last year and this year, it may not be the same. Hence, they should be prepared for every possibility.
In India, only the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducts the entrance test for admission in undergraduate medical courses in India. All of the top medical institutes in India, including AIIMS and JIPMER, will consider the NEET 2026 score. This is why the difficulty level of the examination is high, and only those who have prepared for the examination seriously can clear it. Being the only way of getting admission to MBBS/ BDS and other medical and paramedical courses in India, the need to stay focused has increased. Moreover, with the removal of the upper age limit from the eligibility criteria of NEET. The exam is even more competitive. In order to clear the NEET 2025 exam, students must work with a very strong NEET preparation strategy so that they can stay motivated throughout the preparation phase.
