GUJCET 2026: The exam body, Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB), announced the GUJCET 2026 exam date on November 8, 2025, at http://gujcet.gseb.org/. The GUJCET exam 2026will be conducted on March 29, 2026. The GUJCET Application Form 2026 is expected to be released soon. For candidates submitting the online application form, the GUJCET Admit Card 2026 will be issued a few days before the exam. We can expect the hall ticket to be released in mid week of March 2026. In the previous year, 2025, approximately 1.2 lakh candidates appeared in the GUJCET 2026 exam, which was held across various cities in Gujarat.

GUJCET 2026 exam will have total 120 questions, 40 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. The question paper will be based on class 12 NCERT books. The GSEB will conduct GUJCET 2026 exam on March 29 in various cities at district level. Candidates can refer to the GUJCET Previous Year Paper for practice. What is GUJCET?

Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) is a state-level entrance test conducted to shortlist candidates for admission into B.Tech and B.Pharm programs are offered by various colleges in Gujarat. The exam is conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB). The allotment of seats is done based on scores obtained in the entrance exam.

As per the official announcement from the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board last year, two new changes were brought in GUJCET in the recent years. They are as follows:

  • Marks in subjects other than Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12 will also be considered for preparing the GUJCET merit list.
  • Out of total seats in government colleges, 5 percent of seats will be filled through JEE Main 2026 score while the remaining 95 percent of seats will be filled through GUJCET 2026

The candidates must check the GUJCET 2026 eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. The candidature of aspirants not fulfilling their eligibility requirements will be rejected. The various conditions of eligibility for GUJCET 2026, as per Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, are mentioned below -  

  • They must be an Indian and should have a Gujarat domicile.
  • They should have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board. Candidates applying 
  • They must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects for pharmacy.
  • They must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the main subjects for Engineering.
  • They should have scored 45% (40% for the reserved category) in Class 12.

The GUJCET application form 2026 will be released soon in online mode at http://gujcet.gseb.org/. Candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria will have to fill out the GUJCET 2026 application form by the last date.

The application process of GUJCET 2026 includes registration, filling out the form, uploading scanned images, and payment of application fees. Candidates have to first register and then they can fill the GUJCET form 2026. Subsequently, upload the required documents which includes scanned image of photo and signature and, pay the requisite fee online. Candidates who register within the specified dates will be issued GUJCET 2024 admit cards to appear in the exam. The step-by-step guide to fill GUJCET application form 2026 are:

  • Registration: The candidates must register by entering their Email ID and mobile Number. Candidates also need to create a password of their choice which they have to use for future login
  • Pay Application Fees: After registration, candidates need to pay the GUJCET application fees. The fee has to be paid online using a credit/debit card or internet banking.
  • Filling the Application Form: Candidates can log in using their Email ID or Mobile Number and the password created to open the application form.  The following steps should be followed to complete the application process. 
    • Complete the online fee payment.
    • Fill and save the application form: 
    • All the information asked in the application form must be filled.
    • Photo and signature of the candidate must be uploaded.
    • Submit the saved application form.
  • Download and Take Printout: Once the application form is submitted, students should download and take its printout and keep it safe as it will be required during counseling.

The facility for application form correction will be provided after the completion of the application process. All registered candidates who wish to make any changes to their filled application form will be allowed to do so during the application correction window. GUJCET Exam Pattern 2026

The GSEB prescribes the GUJCET exam pattern. The pattern consists of sections, stages, time duration, marking scheme of the exam. The GUJCET 2026 exam pattern is published on the official website in a notification PDF, and the same can be checked here.

  • GUJCET exam is conducted online as a pen-and-paper-based test.
  • The total duration will be 3 hours.
  • The question paper will be available in English, Gujarati and Hindi.
  • The questions will be from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for the Engineering course. For the Pharmacy course, questions will be from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • The question paper will have a total of 120 multiple-choice questions, and 40 MCQs from each subject.
  • Each correct answer will be given one mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
