SRMJEEE Exam Pattern 2026: The SRM Institute of Science and Technology has released the pattern of SRMJEEE 2026 exam. As per the exam pattern, there will be total 130 multiple choice questions (MCQ) in the test of 1 mark each. The SRMJEEE exam will be held in online, remote proctored mode. Students can take the exam fromplace of their choice their personal laptops/computers having a web camera.

There will be no minus marking. The difficulty level will be of easy-to-moderate level and questions will be based from class 11 and 12 level NCERT Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Bio. Check more details of SRMJEEE exam pattern and other related information here.

In Proctored Online Exam, you will be under constant observation during the entire duration of the test via artificial intelligence tools and live monitoring by the proctors. Any suspected activity will lead to the immediate termination of exam. The AI tools will be able to detect any movement of face or eyeballs and highlight the same automatically. Thus, the candidate will be under constant vigilance of proctor through live feed to deter any suspicious activity of the candidate.

As per the details available in the information brochure, SRMJEEE 2026 will have a total 130 questions, 35 each from Physics and Chemistry, 40 from Mathematics and 20 from English & Aptitude.

Latest Changes in SRMJEEE Exam Pattern

The SRMJEEE exam pattern has been changed recently. The question paper of SRMJEEE will now have 130 questions instead of 125. The structure is also changed; earlier, where five sections, but now there are four. The English and Aptitude sections is merged into one combined section, which includes 20 questions. Previously, there were 5 questions in English and 10 in Aptitude, and they were treated as two separate sections.

Rest of SRMJEEE 2026 exam pattern remains same. Math/Biology section has 40 questions, while Physics and Chemistry sections contains 35 questions each.

Scoring will be consistent with last year’s rules; each correct answer there will be no penalties for wrong answers. In total, the exam is worth 130 marks, compared to 125 in the past, and the duration remains at 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Part 1 - Physics (35 questions) - Units and Measurement, Gravitation, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids Gravitation, Current Electricity, Magnetism and Effects of current, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic induction, Alternating currents and Electromagnetic waves, Optics, Dual nature of radiation and matter and atomic physics, Nuclear Physics, Electronic devices.

Part 2 - Chemistry (35 questions) - Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, p-Block Elements, Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids, 'D' and 'F' block elements, Organic compounds containing Nitrogen, Coordination Compounds, Biomolecules, Haloalkanes and Haloarenes.

Part 3 - Mathematics (40 questions) - Sets, relations and functions, Algebra, Differential calculus and its applications, complex numbers and quadratic equations, matrices, determinants and their applications, integral calculus and its applications, combinatorics permutations and combinations, analytical geometry, Trigonometry.

Part 4 - Biology (40 questions) - Diversity of living world, Structural organisation in animals and plants, cell structure and function, human physiology, plant physiology, sexual reproduction in flowering plants, human reproduction, genetics and evolution, reproduction, molecular basis of inheritance, ecology and environment organisms and populations, biology and human welfare, Biotechnology and its applications.

Part 5 - English and Aptitude (20 questions) - Numerical ability, Data interpretation, Comprehension, Vocabulary and analytical reasoning.

There are a total of 130 questions in the exam and the time duration will be 2.30 hours. There will be no negative marking in the exam.

SRMJEEE 2026 Exam Pattern: Sections

The SRMJEEE exam has 4 sections. Check the details below:

  1. Physics: The physics section will have 35 questions and will carry 35 marks. All questions in this section will be of MCQ type. The level of the questions asked in this section will be 10+2 level.
  2. Chemistry: This section will have 10+2 level questions asked in MCQ format. The total marks in this section will be 35. The total number of questions in this section will be 35.
  3. Maths or Biology: The candidates who aspire to join the Biotech, Biotech (Genetic/Regenerative) and Biomedical courses have to attempt the Biology section. However, candidates who attempt Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English & Aptitude in SRMJEEE(UG) are eligible for all the BTech Degree Programs. The total marks in this section is 40 and has 40 questions.
  4. Aptitude and English: This section will have 20 questions of 20 marks. This section is included in the exam to test the aptitude of the candidates based on some general topics of 10+2 level. To get a sense of the candidate's grasp of the English language, this section has been included in the test.
