The maximum marks in CUET UG exam for each subject is 250 marks. The CUET total marks may vary depending upon the number of subjects opted by candidate.

NTA prescribes the CUET UG marking scheme. Check below to know the CUET UG marking scheme 2026:

• Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
• Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
• Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
• If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
• If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
• If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.

CUET UG 2026 answer key will be released in third week of June 2026. Candidates who will appear for the exam can download the CUET provisional answer key along with the response sheet after the release. NTA will also release the CUET UG 2026 final answer key before the declaration of final results. It is expected that CUET 2026 final answer key will be released in last week of June 2026.

No, candidates can raise objections after the CUET result has been declared. NTA calculates the final CUET score based on final answer key. CUET revised answer key is released after evaluating the objections raised by the candidates after the released of provisional answer key.

There are no prescribed marks for CUET passing criteria. Once candidate has appeared for the exam, candidates must apply for CUET counselling on official website of desired university. Based on counselling applications and CUET score, accepting universities will release the CUET cutoffs. Candidates meeting the cutoff criteria will be shortlisted for admission to desired undergraduate program.

Yes, there is negative marking in CUET UG exam. For every wrong answer, the question will attract negative one mark. Candidates must be careful while answering the questions to avoid any negative marking.

• Click on tab apply for admissions through CUET UG 2026
• Enter CUET UG 2026 login details and complete the application form

A CUET score of 400 marks is considered to be a decent or average score. With the CUET score of 400 marks and correct CUET subject combination criteria, candidates can bag admission in mid-tier colleges. The admission chances vary from category to category. National Testing Agency will announce CUET UG 2026 result tentatively in first week of July 2026 at cuet.nta.nic.in. NTA has not officially announced the CUET result 2026 date. CUET 2026 final answer key will be released by NTA at cuet.nta.nic.in in first week of July 2026. Candidates who will appear for the exam will be able to download the CUET 2026 official answer key along with the individual response sheet. Candidates are also be given the opprtunity to challenge the CUET answer key 2026 provisional when released. To download the provisional CUET answer key candidate's CUET 2026 response sheet will be required to enter the login credentials. NTA will release the CUET 2026 final answer key before the declaration of results.
