Common Law Admission Test 2027 ( CLAT )
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of NLUs. The CLAT Exam is held for admission to 25 NLUs and other participating universities. The CLAT 2027 Registration will start on August 1, 2026. Before that, the CLAT Notification will be published.
The notification will have all important details about CLAT Exam 2027 like date, application process, syllabus, pattern etc. The CLAT Exam will be held in offline mode from 2 pm to 4 pm. CLAT is one of the most important law entrance exams in the country and is the most difficult to crack. More than 1 lakh candidates appeared for the CLAT exam this year. 97.03 per cent of the candidates registered for the CLAT Undergraduate test, and 93.92 per cent of the candidates registered for the CLAT Postgraduate test appeared in the exam last year.

Registration: To be notified
Candidates must note that the last date to apply has not been announced yet. The CLAT Registration will likely close on October 30, 2026. Candidates must note that there is no provision to fill the CLAT 2027 Exam application form offline. To fill the application form just check these steps below:
CLAT 2027 Registration
The very first step is to complete the CLAT Registration. To register, enter your name, mobile number, and email id. Now, select a password and don't forget it. Without completing the registration process, you can not fill the CLAT Application Form. Now that you have finished the registration process, follow the steps given to start filling the application form.
How to fill CLAT 2027 Application Form?
Candidates can follow the simple steps given below to fill the CLAT Application Form
- Login - Go to official website and login
- Select the program of study - After logging in, the first thing is to select the program of study 5-year LLB or one-year LLB
- Fill the form - Start filling the form by entering different information like personal, communication, qualifying examination status, exam centre preferences (THREE centres can be selected in the order of preference), and reservation. All fields need to be filled correctly. Check what all documents should to be uploaded in the prescribed specification (refer to the table below).

- Submit the form - Once the details are duly filled, agree to the declaration, give consent and submit the form.
CLAT NLU Preference List 2027
It must be noted that it is mandatory to give preferences to NLUs while submitting their CLAT 2027 Application Form. Students must select their preferences carefully, as the consortium will only consider those NLUs that have been mentioned in the preference list.

- Pay the application fee - In the last step, pay the application fee (which is category-specific) in online mode using credit or debit cards, or net banking. Note that in addition to the exam fee, Students will have to pay an additional INR 500 if they want to opt for previous years' question papers.

CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Students must understand the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Consortium properly before filling out the application form for the CLAT Exam. It must be noted that the CLAT Eligibility Criteria is different for both CLAT UG and CLAT PG. Except for one common thing, that is, there is no age bar to appear in the exam.
CLAT 2027 Application Form Correction
The Consortium will give a chance to make changes to the already submitted CLAT Application Form 2027. For this, the CLAT Application Correction Window 2027 will be opened. Students can make changes in the already submitted CLAT 2027 Application Form by visiting the official website. Students will be given the option to make changes to CLAT Test Centre preferences too. The CLAT Application Correction Window will remain open for at least 5-10 days. Students can make the following changes until the CLAT 2027 Application Form Correction window is open:

CLAT 2027 Application Correction Window: What all can be edited?
Students can make changes in the CLAT Application by following the steps given below:
- Click on the application correction link
- Login using mobile number and password
- Click on the Edit Application button
- Go to 'Category and Seat Reservation' for NLU preferences, as well as the Personal details tab for OBC category status, whether Non-Creamy Layer or Creamy Layer
- Make the required changes, and click on the Next button
- Click on the declaration checkbox, and Save to submit the changes
CLAT 2027 Question Paper Highlights & Syllabus
The CLAT 2027 UG examination paper will carry questions in Multiple Choice Questions Format. As per the CLAT Marking Scheme, one mark will be awarded for each correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
The CLAT 2027 paper is set to judge not only candidates' ability to interpret, but also their ability to apply logical skills until pressue. CLAT Question Paper 2027 will carry different sections like GK, Mathematics, English, Legal & Logical Reasoning. The UG CLAT syllabus and PG CLAT syllabus are completely different.

CLAT Admit Card 2027

The Consortium is expected to release the CLAT admit card atleast 15 days before the exam. Students can download the CLAT hall ticket until 1:30 pm on exam day. Students can download CLAT Admit Card 2027 by following the process given below
- Go to the CLAT exam 2027 portal
- Enter the mobile number and password
- Download the admit card
- Check all details mentioned on it.
CLAT 2027 Exam Centres
The NLU Consortium will release the list of exam cities for the CLAT exam. Students can select at least three CLAT Test Centre (nearest first) as their preferred location. For this, they have to mark their options in the CLAT 2027 application form. Students will be allowed to select up to three CLAT test centres while filling up the application form. The exam centers of CLAT 2027 will be allotted to the students on the basis of their preference and the availability of seats. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 will be conducted in around 141 test centres across the country.
- For CLAT 2026, the consortium conducted exam in 141 test centres
- For CLAT 2025, the consortium arranged 139 test centres across the country.

The Consortium of NLUs will release the Sample Papers for the CLAT 2027 on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates can access the question papers through the Candidate's login.
