
MHT CET Syllabus 2026: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the MHT CET 2026 syllabus PDF at the CET website, cetcell.mahacet.org. Students must go through the subject-wise MHT CET syllabus pdf on this page for the complete list of topics that will be tested in the exam. The syllabus includes topics from both classes 11th and 12th of the Maharashtra board curriculum.
The MHT CET syllabus 2026 weightage has also been defined by the authorities. Class 11th topics have a 20% weighatge in the MHT CET question paper, while class 12th topics get 80% weightage. PCM aspirants have to study Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, while PCB group aspirants have to study Biology instead of Mathematics.
CET Cell conducted the MHT CET 2026 exam in two sessions for the first time. Session 1 was conducted in April, while the session 2 was conducted in May.

MHT CET Exam Pattern 2026
MHT CET 2026 exam pattern is announced by the exam conducting authority.
- Section1: Mathematics
- Section 2: Physics and Chemistry
For PCB group, the section 1 will be Biology and Section 2 will be Physics and Chemistry.
Each of the three sections is of 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes). Although there is no negative marking in MHT CET, difficulty level of the exam would be at par with JEE Main and NEET UG for PCM and PCB respectively. The questions will typically be application-based.

The syllabus of MHT CET is not same as JEE Main. As per the information available in MHT CET official website, only a few topics of class 11 are part of the MHT CET syllabus. However, all class 12 topics are covered in MHT CET syllabus. The difficulty level of MHT CET is similar to JEE Mains. Students preparing for any of these exams can download the syllabus from the Shiksha page.
The syllabus for MHT CET PCM (BE/BTech) and PCB (BPharma) is different. MHT CET PCM exam is conducted for admission to BE/BTech while the PCB examis conducted for BPharma courses. MHT CET PCM syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. PCB syllabus has Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates must note that Physics and Chemistry syllabus is common/same in both PCB and PCM papers. Candidates can download the CET syllabus from Shiksha page or from the official website.
The syllabus of MHT CET is not similar to the Maharashtra Board class 11 and 12. Only a few chapters of Class 11 are covered in MHT CET syllabus. However, the entire class 12 syllabus is part of MHT CET syllabus. Also, the dificulty level of MHT CET is similar to JEE Mains.
The high-weightage topics from class 11 and 12 Physics as per previous year paper analysis are Current Electricity, Waves, AC, Magnetism, Laws of Motion, Work, Power and Energy. From Chemistry, the high-weightage topics are s and p block elements, Coordination compounds, Thermodynamics, Gaseous state, Chemical bonding, Atomic structure, Polymers, Environmental Chemistry, Organic chemistry. In Mathematics, the high-weightage topics are Sequence and Series, Vectors and 3D, Integral and Differential Calculus, and Definite and Indefinite Integral.
The group selected in MHT CET decides the subjects to be studied. For PCM group, candidates have to study Physics, Chemistry and Maths, while PCB students have to study Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
