What is IB ACIO?
IB ACIO or Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer examination is conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to fill up the vacancies for the post of Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence (IB ACIO) Grade-II. IB ACIO is a national-level exam conducted once a year. The post is classified as Grade-II, Group C (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial Executive post. Selection of candidates for IB ACIO exam is done through Tier I, II, and III exams.

IB ACIO Salary
TheΒ Minimum tenure of deputation for Assistant Central Intelligence Officer-I/Executive, ACIO-II/ Executive, JIO-I/ Executive, JIO-II/Executive, Halwai-cum-Cook, Caretaker, and other posts.will be three or five years (depending on RRs of the post applied for), further extendable up to a maximum of seven years. Tenure of deputation of selected personnel would be governed as per applicable guidelines of DOP&T & MHA. IB ACIO salary for these posts is given below.

IB ACIO Salary for Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Executive
The pay scale of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Executive in the Intelligence Bureau is between INR 44,900-INR 1,42,400 and Central Government allowance. Special security allowance at 20 per cent of basic pay in addition to other government allowances is given to selected candidates. Cash compensation in lieu of duty performed on holidays subject to a ceiling of 30 days is provided to candidates.Β

IB ACIO 2025 Application Process
IB ACIO application form is available now. The examination fee is INR 100 and recruitment processing charges are INR 450. Male candidates belonging to General, EWS and OBC categories are required to pay the exam fee as well as recruitment processing charges. However, SC/ST, female and ExSM candidates had to pay only the recruitment processing fees.

Officers under the Central Police Organizations or State Police Organizations or Defence Force should have the following eligibility:

Graduation from a recognized university or equivalent with two yearsβ experience in security or intelligence work. It is desirable that candidates must have Knowledge of Computers.
IB ACIO Eligibility for Junior Intelligence Officer-I/Executive
Officers of the Central Police Organizations or State Police Organizations or Defence forces:

(ii) Possession of valid driving license for motor cars (LMV) issued by the competent authority.
(iii) Knowledge of motor mechanism (The candidate should be able to mend minor defects in the vehicle); and
(iv) Experience for driving a motor car for at least one year after obtaining valid driving license

(i) 10th class pass with a certificate or diploma in catering, etc.
(ii) Experience: preferably 2 years in a Govt. Department or Undertaking and possessing the above qualification

- Candidates should be between 18 and 27 years. The upper age limit is relaxed for candidates belonging to the following reserved categories:
- Relaxation of five years is given to candidates belonging to SC (Scheduled Caste) and ST (Scheduled Tribes) category

IB ACIO Exam Pattern is divided into three stages: Tier I, II, and Interview. Tier I is an objective-type test that comprises questions spread across five sections. Candidates need to fill IB ACIO application form online. The examination fee is INR 100, and recruitment processing charges are INR 500. Release of admit card
Candidates are issued IB ACIO admit card online separately for different stages of the recruitment process. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter the required login credentials.Β
Appearing in the entrance exam
IB ACIO exam comprises three tiers: I, II, and III. Tier I is an objective-type paper divided into five parts. The test carries a total of 100 marks. To qualify the Tier I exam, candidates need to secure the required cutoff marks. The cutoff marks for the UR category are 35, while it is 34 for OBC/EWS candidates. IB ACIO cutoff marks for SC/ST candidates are 33. Candidates qualifying the Tier I exam are called for the Tier-II test. Tier II is a descriptive type test of 50 marks. On the basis of candidates' performance in the Tier I and II exam, shortlisting is done for the interview. The interview carries 100 marks.

The result for different stages are announced online. IB ACIO result is made available in PDF form and contains the roll numbers of qualified candidates.Β
Final Selection
Final selection of candidates is done based on performance in Tier I, II, and interview. Selected candidates need to undergo document verification and medical examination.
IB ACIO Exam Centres
Β IB ACIO exam is conducted in more than 100 cities. Candidates are required to select three exam cities while filling the application form. The discretion to allot exam centres to candidates depends on the examination authority. Candidates cannot change IB ACIO exam centres allotted to them. Candidates who will opt for more than one exam centre will be rejected.Β
