What's New in XAT 2023?

XAT 2023 exam will be conducted on January 8. XLRI will be conducting the exam at various cities across India. Check what are the new changes in XAT exam.

XAT 2023 exam will be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on January 8. Registration process for the XAT exam started on August 10 and will end on November 30. This year, a few new test cities have been added for the conduct of exam. The XAT 2022 was conducted in 72 cities and XAT 2023 will be conducted in 79 cities. Let's see what's new in XAT 2023?

XAT Exam Pattern

The Xavier Aptitude Test or XAT is a common entrance test for admission to XLRI’s PGDM programmes. The XAT score is also accepted by over 800 MBA colleges in India for admission. XAT has four sections – Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge. Earlier, it had a fifth section Essay Writing which was scrapped in 2019. The Essay Writing (10 minutes) was reintroduced in XAT 2022, but its score was not considered for percentile calculation. In XAT 2023, the Essay Writing will be included again as the exam duration is 3.10 minutes. However, the official notification mentions only the four abovementioned sections.

XAT Exam Timings

For XAT 2023, the exam timings have also changed. Earlier, the XAT exam was conducted from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The upcoming session of XAT will be conducted from 2 PM to 5.10 PM.

XAT Exam Fees

XAT Registration Fee has also been increased for 2023 exam. In XAT 2022, the fees was INR 1800 and candidates had to pay an additional fee of INR 300 if they wanted to apply for XLRI courses. For XAT 2023, the fee is INR 2,000 and candidates have to pay INR 200 for XLRI course.

XAT Test Cities

New cities that have been added to the list of XAT test cities include Tejpur, Shillong, Naharlagun, Jorhat and Rajkot. Candidates can select one of these cities among others in the list for the allotment XAT 2023 examination centre in the application form.
