National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct CUET UG English exam between 13 May 2025 and 03 June 2025 in CBT mode across 300 cities in India and abroad. According to the experts, with only two days left for the CUET English Exam, candidates must focus on high-weightage areas to maximize their scores. According to the syllabus and last yearβs exam pattern, candidates should divide their revision into three major sections: Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, and Grammar.
CUET English Day 1 Study Plan: Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension
Vocabulary: It is one of the highest-scoring sections. Focus on the following areas:
- Synonyms and Antonyms: Practice 40-50 frequently asked word pairs
- Idioms and Phrases: Revise at least 20 common expressions
- One Word Substitution: Cover the top 30 samples from previous yearsβ paper
- Phrasal Verbs & Word Analogies: Practice 10-15 questions
- Figures of Speech: Focus on Metaphor, Simile, Alliteration, etc.
- Spelling Errors & Match the Column: Practice short exercises
Reading Comprehension: Last year, over 20 questions were asked from this section. Practice at least two passages, focusing on these key areas:
- Inference-Based Questions
- Questions on Literary Devices
- Poetry Extracts
CUET English Day 2 Study Plan: Grammar and Full-Length Practice
Grammar: Practice high-weightage topics like:
- Tenses & Error Spotting
- Parts of Speech
- Active/Passive Voice & Direct/Indirect Speech

Take CUET English Mock Tests: With mock tests, candidates can create an exam-like environment and know how much speed they will have to maintain during the actual examination. After completing the mock test, review and revise the topics where mistakes were made.

The difficulty level of the CUET exam ranges from moderate to tough. Since the CUET UG exam is held for multiple subjects and slots, the difficulty level of the exam varies from subject to subject. Sometimes, the difficulty level may also vary for different slots. The difficulty level of exam is also relative and the same exam's level of difficulty may vary for different slots and candidates. While for the well-prepared candidates, the difficulty level will be low, for the underprepared students, the level of difficulty will be on the higher side.
On analysing the CUET UG cut off for the academic year 2025-26, scoring above 700 marks can be considered a good score in CUET UG. Candidates scoring above 700 may fall in the category of 95+ percentile. Candidates can get admission to top universities like University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and other top central universities in the desired course. Given below is the range that is considered good for admission to top universities:
- Very Good Score: 700 and above
- Good Score: 650 and above
Score range between 400-649 is considered an average score. Admission on the basis of the average score can et into any decent college in India accepting CUET scores.

CUET UG total marks is 250 Marks for each subject. Candidates can choose up to five CUET subjects. Each subject paper has 50 questions which will total to 250 marks for each subject. For every correct answer, candidate will get 5 marks. The CUET total marks will be uniform for all 37 subjects.
