What to Expect in NTA JEE Main 2027
In recent years, the JEE Main exam has shown a strong shift toward highly conceptual, multi-concept questions rather than direct formula-based problems.
- In 2027, candidates can expect a balanced mix where Chemistry is the most scoring, Physics is conceptual, and Mathematics is lengthy and calculation-heavy.
Questions may combine concepts from Calculus, Algebra and Coordinate Geometry with lengthy calculations. Speed, accuracy and time management will be crucial.

Time required to cover JEE Main syllabus changes from one student to another student. In general, to complete the entire JEE Main syllabus, students would require around 1 year. Who Can Apply for JEE Main 2027?
JEE Main 2027 exam can be taken by candidates who:

While NCERT books are good to begin the JEE Mains preparation, students should not study only NCERT. As JEE Mains exam is known to test candidates conceptual and analytical skills, and to have all the knowledge that would help in achieving a good score, candidates must also refer other study materials as recommended by teachers to prepae for the exam.
The best way to handle tough topics in any subject is to study the concepts of that particular topic. The conceptual understanding of any topic gives us the clarity to solve theoretical as well as numerical questions from that topic. NCERT text books are the best material to understand the core concepts.
Not both are not same. But some topics are similar in JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students who qualify the JEE Main exam and are among the top 250000 students are eligible to take the JEE Advanced. Due to this reason majority of syllabi are the same, but a few extra topics are added in JEE Advanced.
A score of 70 marks in JEE Mains is considered average to below-average for General category students. This corresponds to a percentile around 88 to 91.
JEE Main Application Form 2027
The National Testing Agency will release the JEE Mains 2027 application form separately for both attempts of the exam. The complete application process is online and the official website to register is notified with the notice at nta.ac.in.
The JEE Main application process includes the following steps:

Prepare the following documents to apply for NTA JEE Mains 2027:
- Valid and functional email and mobile number. To receive confirmation and verification messages from NTA, an active email address and mobile number are mandatory.
- Class 10 certificate/mark sheet.
- Aadhaar card
- Scanned photo and signature of the candidate as per the size and dimension (photograph will also be captured using webcam of laptop/computer)
- Candidates belonging to the OBC-NCL/EWS category need to provide details of the issue date and the name of the person who issued the certificate. OBC-NCL/EWS candidates need not upload the certificate, but only the details of the certificate have to be filled in the form.
- Scanned copy of the PwD/PwBD certificate. PwD/PwBD candidates have to upload the certificate in the form.
- Details of net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI for paying the JEE Main application fee

The rank needed for admission to the BTech course would depend on the course, round and branch you are applying for.
