IIT Guwahati MTech/PhD Admission 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati is accepting admission application form for MTech and PhD programmes. Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements can fill out the IIT Guwahati MTech and PhD application form online at the official website: iitg.ac.in/acad/admission. The last date to complete the IITG MTech and PhD application form is April 15 by 5 PM.

They must note that the IIT Guwahati MTech/PhD applications will not be accepted in any other mode. Candidates need to register only once on the IITG application portal. Under the same login, they can submit MTech/PhD applications to multiple programmes and disciplines. However, the application fee should be paid separately for each discipline.

IIT Guwahati MTech/PhD Admission 2025 Eligibility

To be eligible for admission to the PhD programme, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A 4-year or 5-year Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, with a minimum CPI of 6.0 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks.
• For candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories, the minimum requirement is relaxed to 5.5 CPI or 55% marks

They must note that

• The relevance of the discipline will be determined by the respective academic division, based on the advertised research areas.
• The degree must be from a University or Institute of National Importance and should represent at least four years of study after Class 12 (or equivalent).

PhD students admitted with an undergraduate degree have the opportunity to pursue a Dual Master’s + PhD programme in select academic divisions.

• They must opt for this integrated pathway either at the time of admission or no later than the end of the first semester.
• Students enrolled in this track are required to complete a minimum of 72 credits of prescribed coursework, typically spread over three semesters, as specified by the respective academic division.
• A minimum CPI of 6.5 in the coursework is required to continue in the Dual Master’s + PhD programme.

To be eligible for admission to the MTech programme, candidates must have:

• A four-year Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CPI of 6.0 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate marks.
• For candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories, the minimum eligibility is relaxed to 5.5 CPI or 55% marks.

IIT Guwahati MTech/PhD Admission 2025 Application Form

Applications for the PhD, MTech, MDes, MS(R), and MA programmes must be submitted only through the online application portal: iitg.ac.in/admission. The online application process consists of three mandatory steps, and an application will be considered complete only after all three steps are completed. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Step 1: Enter personal details, including educational qualifications.

Step 2: Select the desired programme.

Step 3: Make the online payment of the application (processing) fee.

As part of step 3, candidates must pay the application fee online as per their categories. The application fee is INR 300 for all female, transgender, SC/ST, and PwD candidates, and INR 600 for all other candidates.
