IIT Hyderabad PhD Admission 2025-26: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad is accepting applications for Department of Chemical Engineering (ChE) PhD July admission 2025-26. As per the brochure, the last date to apply for IIT Hyderabad PhD July admission in the Department of Chemical Engineering till April 17, 2025. They need to fill out the IIT Hyderabad PhD July admission form at iith.ac.in/phdadmissions.

The research areas in IITH Chemical Engineering department are: Catalysis & Energy, Bioengineering & Biotechnology, Process Systems & Engineering, Advanced Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Polymers & Soft Matter, Mineral Processing, Multiscale Simulations and Al & ML.

Who are eligible to apply for IIT Hyderabad PhD July Admission in Chemical Engineering Department?

The Department welcomes applications from highly motivated individuals with diverse academic backgrounds. Applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Master’s Degree Holders: Candidates with an M.Tech, M.E., or M.S. (by Research) in Chemical Engineering or allied fields. A valid GATE score is not required for this category.
  • Science Graduates: Candidates with an M.Sc. degree in relevant science disciplines may be considered for project-funded PhD positions, subject to the availability of suitable research projects and funding.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Holders: Exceptional candidates with a B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering or allied disciplines must possess a valid GATE score to be eligible.
  • Fellowship Awardees: Applicants who have secured prestigious government fellowships, such as DST-INSPIRE, DBT, or UGC fellowships, are strongly encouraged to apply. A GATE score may not be required in such cases.
  • Industry Professionals: Working professionals from an industry with a strong academic background may apply under the external registration category, provided they have relevant external funding and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
