Hello candidate, the minimum eligibility criteria for getting admission to BTech Aeronautical Engineering at popular Indian colleges is a minimum of 50-60% marks in Class 12, which may vary depending on the college/university. Further, you must have completed your Class 12 with a Science stream with 50-60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects (PCM).
Rest, for the reserved category students, there is some sort of marks relaxation in the eligibility criteria that you can check by visiting the official websites of the colleges. The admission to the course is given on a merit basis and/or entrance exam scores that may vary on the basis of the college and its individual guidelines. In addition, you may also have to appear for rounds such as Personal Interview (PI) round after getting shortlisted via the cut-off round for getting admission at some of the academic institutions.
Hope this answered your doubt. If yes, please up vote.
The selection process for the B Tech Aeronautical Engineering course depends on both parameters that include the Class 12 merit and entrance test marks. Most of the Aeronautical Engg. colleges consider the marks obtained by students in relevant entrance tests and then allot a seat on the basis of their rank in the exam.
Having said that, there are more than 80 BTech in Aeronautical Engineering colleges that offer merit-based admissions, looking at the Class 12 board exam marks of the students. These colleges mostly take the PI or GD rounds in such cases. Meanwhile, a few colleges also give equal weightage to both the things.
So, you should check the guidelines given on the college websites to ensure a smooth admission process.

Aeronautical Engineering Career Scope in India
Engineering Jobs and Career Scope
Well, this is a difficult question to answer in every aspect, of course, you get a lot of opportunities in government and private sector but it isn't enough. I guess nothing is enough and that shouldn't stop you from taking up this course or profession if you are passionate about it and things involved interests you.
Talking about what all can you do after Aeronautical Engineering?
1) Maintenance of Aircraft- You can work as an Aeronautical Maintenance Engineer where you will test new aerodynamic and aviation systems and maintain them.
2) Aircraft Designer - You can get involved in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecrafts. Here, you may conduct research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment with respect to aircraft design and manufacture.
3) Defence - You can also work in the defense sector working on defence aircrafts such as fighter jets, choppers, bombers, etc. Also, the job requires being able to handle such aircraft at necessary times.
Further, where all can you work?
You can work in government sector with ISRO, DRDO, HAL, etc., and then you can look at private companies such as L&T, Godrej & Boyce aerospace, Boeing, Airbus, Mahindra, etc. The opportunities are endless.
Thanks. Have a good day.
Neither is inherently "better". They're both different specializations - an Aircraft Design Engineer focuses on overall structure and mechanics (body, wings, engines) but an Avionics Engineer works with electronics (radar, navigation, autopilot, communication systems).
Candidates should choose Aircraft Design if they love physical, mechanical and also aerodynamic aspects. Or they can choose Avionics if they are interested in computers, electronics and also complex systems that make plane "smart".
An Aeronautical Engineer works with aircraft and their primary job is to design aircraft and propulsion systems. But with time they are given many more responsibilities to carry out, such as
- The Aeronautical engineers study the mechanisms of aircraft.
- They work for a career in aeroplanes, airplanes, jet planes and space shuttles.
