AFCAT Vacancy 2026: The Indian Air Force (IAF) released AFCAT 1 2026 vacancies. A total of 340 vacancies were announced. Out of the total vacancies, 10 per cent of seats out of CDSE vacancies are reserved for Permanent Commission (PC). 10 per cent of seats out of AFCAT vacancy for Short Service Commission (SSC) are reserved for the NCC Special Entry Flying branch.

AFCAT 1 vacancy 2023 was released along with the notification. A total of 256 vacancies were announced for the exam. In 2022, a total of 269 vacancies were announced for AFCAT 1 exam. Details of AFCAT Training
The duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks. This takes place at various Air Force Training Organisations. Selection for training is done based on merit.
AFCAT Selection Process
The Indian Air Force (IAF) decides the AFCAT selection process. The selection process comprises online test and AFSB Interview. The online test of AFCAT exam includes General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. The total marks allotted to the test are 300. Candidates qualifying the online test are called for AFSB interview.

AFCAT Exam Pattern
The AFCAT exam pattern released along with the notification. Candidates must go thorough with theexam pattern properly. The exam is divided into online test and AFSB Interview. Total marks allotted to AFCAT exam are 300. There are four sections in the test. Three marks are given for right answers. There are also negative marks in the exam. Based on the online test, candidates are selected for AFSB interview.
