Q: What is the validity of HP TET?

The validity of HP TET is lifetime. Candidates who qualify the HP TET exam will be provided with the eligibility certificate so that they can apply for the teacher recruitment in Himachal Pradesh schools for Punjabi, Urdu, TGT (Arts), TGT (Medical), JBT, TGT (Sanskrit), TGT (Non-Medical), TGT (Hindi), Special Educator (For Pre-Primary to Class-V), and Special Educator(For VI to Class-XII). However, candidates need to fulfill the age limit and eligibility criteria prescribed by the respective teacher recruitment agency to apply for the job.

Q: How many times is HP TET conducted in a year?

HP TET exam is conducted twice every year. The first session of the HP TET exam is held in June and the second session is held in November. However, the decision is taken by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education. It is a state-level exam conducted by the HPBOSE. The HP TET exam is for checking the eligibility of candidates as teachers in the schools of Himachal Pradesh.

Q: In which language is the HP TET exam conducted?

The HP TET exam question paper is set in bilingual language- English and Hindi languages. Each question in the exam, except for English language, is given in English and Hindi. The HP TET question paper is made available in two languages for every paper. In HP TET Shastri paper, the questions are partially Sanskrit and partially Hindi. Punjabi/ Urdu/ Language Teacher paper is Punjabi/ Urdu/ English only. Candidates need to read the questions carefully before marking their answers.

Q: Who are declared pass in the HP TET exam?

Candidates who are able to obtain minimum qualifying marks in the HP TET exam are declared pass. The HP TET minimum qualifying marks are 90 out of 150 for General category candidates and 82 out of 150 for Reserved category candidates. Those who fail to obtain the HP TET passing or qualifying marks need to appear for the exam again.

HP TET exam pattern 2024 is prescribed by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE). The Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HP TET) exam pattern 2024 is different for all eight papers- JBT, Shastri, TGT (Non-Medical), TGT (Medical), TGT (Arts), Language Teacher, Punjabi and Urdu. The similarity in the exam pattern of all the HP TET 2024 papers is that the exam duration of each paper is two hours and thirty minutes and each paper carries 150 marks.
