SSC JE 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) postponed the Paper 1 examination dates. It is expected to be conducted in December 2025. Earlier, the examination dates released for SSC JE 2025 Tier 1 are October 27 to 31, 2025. The admit card will be released few days before the conduction of an exam. A direct download link will be provided below for SSC JE admit card once it is released. The authority increased the SSC JE 2025 vacancies from 1,340 to 1,731 via notification released on August 5, 2025. Candidates can check below the SSC JE vacancies department-wise. The registration window was closed on July 21, 2025. The application process was started on June 30, 2025. The dates of ‘Window for Online Application Form Correction and Online payment of Correction Charges' were August 1 to 2, 2025. 

The Tier 2 exam will be conducted from January-February 2026. Candidates appearing in the SSC JE 2025 exam must go through the syllabus and exam pattern for their preparations. SSC JE Syllabus & Pattern 2025

SSC JE syllabus is notified in the official notification. The candidates are tested for their engineering aptitude in the tier 1 exam. The candidates' subjective knowledge is tested by the authority in Tier 2. The candidates can check the official SSC JE Syllabus and prepare accordingly.

The SSC JE syllabus comprises three papers: General Intelligence and Reasoning for 50 marks, General Awareness for 50 marks, and General Engineering for 100 marks. The third paper, i.e., the General Engineering paper, is subject-specific and divided into three parts: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. After the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the SSC JE Paper 2 result, the final merit list is made for the candidates combining the marks of Paper 1 and Paper 2. The Commission will release the SSC JE cutoff 2025 for each category and for each engineering stream separately. Besides the cutoff, the Commission will also release the number of candidates available under each stream for the next phase of the exam. SSC JE Application 2025

The SSC released the JE application form 2025 for paper 1 on June 30, 2025 as per the official calendar. The last date to apply was July 21, 2025.

The Staff Selection Commission has issued an official notice announcing a significant update to the SSC registration process. According to the notification, the One Time Registration (OTR) system will be Aadhaar-enabled starting from the 2025 exam cycle, effective June 2, 2025. This means that all candidates registering for upcoming SSC exams including JE will be required to link their Aadhaar information as part of the SSC OTR process. Additionally, referring to the SSC Annual Examination Calendar released on May 9, 2025, the Commission has informed candidates that the option to edit existing SSC OTR details will only be available until May 31, 2025. After this date, any modifications to the current SSC registration profiles will not be permitted. Further, they will need to re-register under the new Aadhaar-enabled system.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in SSC JE exam?
A: 

Yes, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer in SSC JE paper 1. The quantum of negative marking in the SSC JE exam is the one fourth. It implies that for each incorrect answer, the Commission will deduct one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question. It also means that four incorrect answer can eat up the marks scored in one correct answer. On the other hand, in Paper 2 one mark is deducted for incorrect answer. I means that if a candidate have scored 3 marks in the exam and have give three incorrect answers then the he/she will secure zero marks in the paper 2.

Yes. The authority released the notification and application form. The last date to apply was July 21, 2025. The SSC JE Tier 1 exam 2025 will be conducted tentatively from October 27 to 31.
