
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) released the UPTET 2026 exam dates on its official website - upessc.up.gov.in. The Commission will conduct the UPTET exam 2026 offline on July 2, 3 and 4 at the designated exam centres. The Commission will soon release the UPTET application form and notification for the candidates. The candidates will get around 30 days to fill the online application form.
The Commission will release the official UPTET notification to notify all the important information such as dates, syllabus, exam pattern and other important information required to fill the online application form. The candidates will get all the information about the exam through the UPTET notification only. Earlier, the exam was scheduled for January 29 and 30 but postponed. After the selection in UPTET, the candidates will be eligible for appearing in the UP Super TET exam which will be conducted to recruit the candidates in the Primary and Junior Schools in the state.

What is UPTET 2026
UPTET is a state-level exam conducted once a year that makes candidates to gain eligibility for Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6-8) level teachers in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) conducts the exam on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). UPTET exam is conducted in two shifts for two papers - Papers 1 and 2. UPTET Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who plan to become teachers of Classes 1-5. On the other hand, UPTET Paper 2 is for candidates who plan to become teachers of Classes 6-8. However, the candidates who wish to become teachers of Classes 1-8 need to appear in both papers of UPTET 2026.

UP Government will release the UPTET Notification in Hindi. It will contain all the details of the exam such as the application process, eligibility criteria, important dates, exam pattern, syllabus and others. Candidates who qualify for the UPTET become eligible to apply for recruitment as Primary or Upper Primary level teachers in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. Qualifying candidates will receive their certificate after the declaration of the result.

UPTET Application Form: Documents Required

UPTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

UPTET Age limit for Paper 1 & Paper 2
Candidates should have attained a minimum of 18 years of age in order to be eligible to apply for the UPTET exam. There is no upper age limit in the UPTET exam.

UPTET Paper 1 Educational Qualification (Primary Teacher)
Candidates need to fulfil any one of the eligibility conditions mentioned below in terms of educational qualification in order to appear for the UPTET Paper 1:
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduation with BEd (final year appearing or passed)
UPTET Paper 2 Educational Qualification (Upper Primary Teacher)
Candidates need to fulfil any one of the eligibility criteria given below in terms of educational qualification in order to appear for the UPTET Paper 2:
- Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduation with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in one-year BEd
- Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and a one-year BEd
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks with a four-year BElEd
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks with a four-year BA/ BScEd/ BAEd/ BScEd
