How to Apply for RBI Grade B exam?

RBI Grade B application form is released online.  The application fee can be paid online only, which is INR 850 for General/OBC and INR 100 for SC/ST/PwBD. The process to fill the application form is given below.

RBI Grade B Eligibility 2026

RBI Grade B eligibility is decided by the examination authority. It highlights the age, educational qualification and number of attempts. The age be between 21 to 30 years. Relaxation in the upper age is provided to those belonging to reserved categories. The qualification prescribed for the exam is Graduation. The minimum qualifying percentage in Graduation is 60. There is also a limit in the number of attempts.

RBI Grade B exam pattern is divided into Phase I, II, and Interview. Phase I of RBI Grade B for General Post comprises four sections. All the questions in the exam will be objective type. The total marks for the test are 200. Phase II comprises both objective-type and descriptive-type questions. The test comprises three papers. The total marks for the test are 300. The Interview for General Post carries a total of 50 marks. The structure of RBI Grade B exam pattern is given below.

The basic RBI Grade B salary is INR 55,200. The pay scale is INR 55,200-2850(9)-80,850-EB-2850 (2)-86,550-3300(4)-99,750 (16 years). The initial monthly gross emoluments are INR 1,08,404 (approx). The allowances offered to candidates are Dearness Allowance, Local Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, and Grade Allowance. Candidates joining as Grade B officers are promoted to the following levels:

Candidates need at least 8 to 10 months for RBI Grade B preparation. It also depend on how much time candidates can devote to the preparation. Candidates need to know their strengths and weaknesses. They should go through the topics given in the syllabus.

 

 

 

Q:   Are the exam centres for RBI Grade B prelims and Mains exams the same?
A: 
RBI Grade B exam centres are different for prelims and Mains exams. The prelims exam is conducted in more than 150 cities and Mains exam is conducted in 20 cities. The interview is conducted at some of the exam centres prescribed for the Mains exam. The interview is conducted at the regional offices of RBI at times.
