It is common belief that there are two major streams for students after class 12th: BTech or MBBS, but Science is such a multifaceted subject. The eligibility for Science course is different for every specialization and college. In general, candidates should have a good passing score in Class 12 in respective streams. Likewise, the salary is also different. For eg - average salary after BSc Computer Science and BSc Nursing are different. BSc CS average salary is 10.3 LPA, and 3.1 LPA is for BSc Nursing.

Yes, many Science specializations have both practical and theoretical elements. Specializations in medicine and engineering particularly involve a lot of lab work and on-ground participation from students for them to understand the application of their theoretical knowledge better. No, IITs rely strictly on JEE Mains and JEE Advanced scores for admission. SAT scores could be considered for NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) but not for domestic candidates. Also, JEE scores open doors to more colleges other than IITs, which gives candidates a higher opportunity to pursue the degree of their liking.
