What is CSIR NET?
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) NET (also known as CSIR UGC NET) is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor in the universities and colleges of India. Candidates clearing the CSIR NET exam can become lecturers in the subject areas falling under the faculty of Science & Technology only. The hall ticket for the CSIR UGC NET June session will be released by the NTA. Candidates will be able to download their call letter from the link provided below once it is released. The CSIR NET admit card contains various details of the examination, like the examination centre, exam date, time of examination, etc. It is mandatory to carry the hall ticket at the examination centre by the candidate. Without the call letter, candidate will not be able to sit in the exam. Candidates can download it from below.

CSIR NET 2026 City Slip OUT
The City Intimation Slip for the CSIR UGC NET exam released on the official website on July 8, 2026. The city slip is different from the admit card as it only consists of the name of the city of the examination so that candidates can make their travel arrangements in advance. The CSIR NET exam consists of three parts namely Part A, B and C. Part A covers General Aptitude and is common to all the aspirants while Part B and C are subject specific. CSIR NET 2026 Exam Pattern
The NTA CSIR NET Question Paper is divided into three sections- Part A, B and C. Part 'A' shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions of General Aptitude. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions for two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.
The CSIR NET Part A consists of General Aptitude questions that assess the candidates’ teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension skills, divergent thinking and general awareness.
The CSIR NET Part B and C consist of questions that are based on the subjects chosen by candidates from the following five subjects - Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences.

CSIR NET Exam Date 2026
The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the CSIR NET NTA June exam date on the official website at csirnet.nta.nic.in. It will be conducted as a computer-based test in two shifts from July 17 to 18, 2026. The CSIR NET exam date is mentioned in the Information bulletin or official notification. As per the information bulletin, the upper age limit for the CSIR NET exam should not be more than 30 years as on the first day of the month in which the examination is concluded. A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-NCL (as per the Central list of OBC) /SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third gender categories and to women applicants.
