Written Exam - 100 marks
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - 40 marks
Computer Proficiency Test - 30 marks
Extra-curricular Activities - 30 marks

Stage 1: Written Exam
The total marks of the written test will be 100 only. It is conducted in offline (pen and paper) mode. Candidates have to darken their answer in the OMR sheet with a blue or black ball pen.
About the Written exam
- Total time allotted for the test is 3 hours
- There will be 100 questions and each question will carry 1 marks
- There will be negative marking of ½ mark for each wrong answer
- The paper will be divided into three parts:
Syllabus
(i) Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension
(ii) Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India and
(iii) General Knowledge
Assam Police SI Exam Pattern Important Facts
- Candidates have to go through document verification and physical standard test before appearing for PET; if any candidate fails to qualify in these stages, his or her candidature will be canceled
- The Assam Police SI final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregated marks in all stages of recruitment
- For each category, only one merit list would be published for male and female candidates separately
- Recruitment body will not release any waiting list of candidates
