BPSC 70th Exam 2025 Date Announced: Mains to be Held from April 25 to 30; Protests Continue Over Prelims

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially announced the schedule for the 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Mains. The examination will take place from April 25 to April 30, 2025, across designated centers in Patna. Candidates who have cleared the Preliminary Examination (PT) are now eligible to apply for the Mains.
BPSC Application Process Begins on February 21
The application window for the BPSC 70th CCE Mains exam will be open from February 21 to March 17, 2025. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official BPSC website: bpsc.bihar.gov.in. The commission has advised applicants to carefully review the detailed notification, syllabus, and guidelines before proceeding with their applications.
Exam Structure and Selection Process
The BPSC 70th Mains exam will consist of four papers:
General Hindi
General Studies โ Paper 1
General Studies โ Paper 2
Optional Subject (chosen by the candidate)
Candidates who qualify for the Mains will be shortlisted for the final interview round, which will determine their selection for various administrative posts under the Bihar government. This year, BPSC has announced 2,035 vacancies across different state services, including the Bihar Administrative Service, Bihar Police Service, and Revenue Service.
Exam Centers and Conduct of Mains
The Mains exam will be conducted exclusively in Patna, with centers allotted as per the candidatesโ registration details. The commission has reiterated that the exam will proceed as scheduled, despite ongoing demands from aspirants for the cancellation of the Preliminary Examination (PT) over alleged irregularities.
Student Protests Over 70th Prelims Irregularities
While the Mains schedule is confirmed, student protests continue in Patna over the alleged question paper leak in the BPSC 70th Preliminary Exam, held on December 13, 2024. Protesters, including students and educators, have gathered at Gardanibagh and Mussallahpur Hall, demanding a re-examination of the Prelims and raising slogans against BPSC and the Bihar government.
Prominent educators like Khan Sir and Motiur Rahman Khan (Guru Rahman) have also joined the protests, adding to the pressure on BPSC. Demonstrators took out a rally from Mussallahpur to Gardanibagh, demanding immediate action. Although the Bihar government has denied any wrongdoing, authorities had earlier ordered a re-examination for over 12,000 candidates who appeared at a Patna exam center affected by the alleged paper leak.
BPSC Yet to Respond to Protestersโ Demands
Despite mounting pressure, BPSC has not yet issued an official response regarding the cancellation of the Prelims exam. With the Mains exam date now set, tensions are expected to escalate as aspirants await a clarification from the commission.
