No, candidates should not send the printout of the RBI Grade B application form and e-receipt. However, candidates must keep the printout of the application form and fee receipt for future reference. The application fee for the exam is INR 850 for General/OBC and INR 100 for SC/ST/PwBD, can be paid online only. d. Four-year Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years in Data Science/ AI/ ML/ Big Data Analytics from a recognised University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme; OR

e. Two years Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years from a recognised University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme.

RBI Grade B exam comprises both objective and subjective type questions. The prelims exam carries objective-type questions whereas the Mains exam carries both objective-type and descriptive-type questions. The prelims exam carries questions from General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The Mains exam carries questions from Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues, Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) and Paper-III: Finance and Management. The standard of questions asked in RBI Grade B exam is of graduation level. The total marks allotted to the Phase 1 exam are 200. The Phase 2 exam carries 300 marks. The interview carries 75 marks. Candidates need to be thorough with the exam pattern inorder to clear the exam.

RBI Grade B exam pattern is such that it is divided into Phase I, II, and Interview. The Phase 1 comprises subjects such as General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the exam are 200. The duration of the test is 120 minutes. The language of the question paper is English and Hindi. Phase II comprises Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues, Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) and Paper-III: Finance and Management. The Phase 2 exam carries 300 marks. The duration of Paper I and III are 120 minutes (30 minutes for the objective test and 90 minutes for the descriptive test) while Paper-II is held for 90 minutes. All papers of Phase II, except the English Language, are set in English and Hindi. The interview carries 75 marks.

As per the revised exam pattern, candidates need to appear for the Psychometric Test in the RBI Grade B exam before appearing in the interview. There are no marks for this test. The performance of candidates in the psychometric test is not counted for the final merit list. It is only conducted to test the psychological knowledge of candidates. The psychometric test basically measure individuals' mental capabilities and behaviour style. The test assess a cadidate's ability to perform the assigned job role. The scores of RBI Grade B are calculated in the following method: The number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the corrected score after applying the penalty for wrong answers The corrected scores so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the equated scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms Test-wise scores and scores on total are reported with decimal points up to two digits.

RBI Grade B result is declared online separately for prelims, Mains and final selection. The result is made available in PDF form. The scorecard is released after the declaration of the result. The Phase I marks of candidates are not considered for RBI Grade B final selection for General Post. The Phase 1 exam serves as screening test. Only the marks obtained in the phase 2 and interview are considered for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam and interview are selected for appointment to the post of RBI Grade B Officers. Phase-I exam for General post comprise questions from General Awareness, Reasoning, English Language, and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. The Phase 2 exam comprises three papers. Total marks allotted to Phase-II exam for General post are 300 marks. The interview carries 75 marks.

The overall difficulty level of RBI Grade B Phase 1 2024 exam was moderate. The difficulty level is given below.

The difficulty level of the Phase 2 exam is easy to moderate. In 2022, the descriptive paper was easy while the objective paper was moderate. Questions in the subjective paper were asked from LTRO, resistance to change and how to avoid, India's role in 2008 financial crisis, blockerchain disrupt banking, what are the barriers to interpersonal communication and how to overcome it,  managers' role in encouraging ethical behaviour in an organisation. The objective paper carried around four to five questions on RBI notification Legal Entity Identifier (LEI), Payments Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF). In the Management part, there were application-based questions. There were questions on five model personalities, motivation. In Finance, questions were asked from CSIR, defination of small industries, etc. The questions asked in Economics and Social Issues were easy. 

The difficulty level of RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam is usually moderate to difficult. In 2022, the difficulty level of the English section was easy whereas the Quant section was calculative. Current Affairs questions were asked from the recent events that took place in May and April 2022. In General Awareness, there were questions on Budget. Static GK questions were very less. The Reasoning section was difficult and time-consuming. In Quant, questions were asked from Compound Interest and Simple Interest, Quadratic Equation. Reasoning questions were asked from Seating Arrangement, Paragraph Based questions, Statement Based questions. There were two Reading Comprehension in English section. 

RBI Grade B Mains cut off is calculated to select candidates for the interview. It is the aggregate cut off marks in the Paper 1, 2 and 3 taken together in the descriptive and objective tests and is calculated out of 300 marks. The cut off for the Mains exam is released after the completion of the recruitment process.

RBI Grade B prelims cut off is decided to select candidates for the Mains exam. The cut off marks for this stage are calculated out of 200 marks. The cut off marks are decided after normalisation since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts. The cut off marks obtained in this stage are not counted for the final merit list.

Selected candidates will get starting basic pay of INR 55,200 per month in the pay scale of INR 55,200-2850 (9)-80,850-EB-2850 (2) - 86,550-3300 (4)-99,750 (16 years). The initial monthly gross emoluments are INR 1,08,404. The basic pay of a Grade B Officer in RBI is INR 55,200 per month. Candidates will also receive benefits such as Dearness Allowance, Local Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, and Grade Allowance.

RBI Grade B salary structure is decided including several allowances, perks and benefits. The gross salary is INR 1,08,404 incluiding allowances, perks and benefits. • For candidates having high academic educational qualifications, RBI at its own discretion considers granting up to four advance increments

RBI Grade B 2025 notification was released on September 10, 2025 by RBI. The short notification was released on September 8, 2025. The notification was released in PDF form and comprises the important details related to the exam. Candidates must read the notification before applying for the exam.

RBI Grade B exam is conducted every year. The exam is conducted to select candidates for the post of Grade B Officers. The selection process comprises phase 1 exam, phase 2 exam and interview. RBI Grade B Phase 2 marks are counted for the final merit list. The Phase 2 exam carries three papers. The total marks allotted to the test are 300. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks in this paper in order to qualify the exam.

Candidates joining to the post of RBI Grade B Officer are promoted to Manager, Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager, General Manager, Chief General Manager, Executive Director and Deputy Governor. They are on probation for two years. During probation, candidates are imparted training related to the various bank processes.

RBI Grade B exam is conducted online only for General post. The Paper 1 of RBI Grade B exam is conducted online and carries questions from General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. The Phase 2 of RBI Grade B exam is conducted online. In Paper 1 of Phase 2 exam, candidates need to answer the questions in the descriptive paper with the help of the keyboard. In Paper 2 and 3 of Phase 2 exam, candidates need to type the descriptive answers with the help of the keyboard. Candidates opting to type the answers in Hindi in the descriptive test can do so with the help of either Inscript or Remington (GAIL) keyboards layout. RBI Grade B exam for DEPR and DSIM is conducted online and offline.
