The authority announced the 6189 IBPS PO vacancies that are to be filled through the IBPS PO exam.
The exam is conducted for the selection of candidates for 11 public sector banks. The authority conducts the IBPS PO exam every year since 2011 to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officer in various public sector banks in India.

Normalisation of IBPS PO Marks
IBPS calculates the IBPS PO marks of the candidates through a method called normalisation that help candidates to get a rounded-up figure. Nationality Requirement
A candidate applying for IBPS CRP/Bank PO Examination must be one of the following:
1. Citizen of India
2. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
3. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India
Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favour.
Age Limit
IBPS PO eligibility criteria are certain parameters regarding age and educational qualification. The age limit of candidates for IBPS PO is between 20 and 30 years. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1995 and not later than 01.08.2005 (both dates inclusive).
The IBPS also provides age relaxation to certain categories. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to the following categories.

Educational Qualification
The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CRP exam is a graduation degree (BA, BCom, BSc, BTech, etc) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India. Any such candidate who has received equivalent qualification which the Central Government recognizes is also eligible to apply for this exam.
The candidates must have a valid mark sheet/ degree certificate that certifies that they are a graduate on the day they register for this exam, and must indicate the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while registering for the IBPS PO.
Calculation of Graduation Percentage
The percentage of marks obtained in graduation is arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any) multiplied by 100. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on the basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived is ignored i.e. 59.99 per cent will be treated as less than 60 per cent and 54.99 per cent are treated as less than 55 per cent.
Computer Literacy
Working knowledge of computer systems is necessary for the job as well as to give the IBPS PO exam which is conducted in online mode.
Language Proficiency
Verbal and written proficiency in the official language of the State/UT is desirable. The candidate must be able to read, write and speak the language.

The candidates should note that the IBPS PO vacancies released with the official advertisement. The IBPS can revise the IBPS PO vacancies at any stage of the exam based on the requirements of the participating banks. The total vacancies announced for IBPS PO 2025 exam is 6018 after the final result announcement.

The IBPS PO 2025 exam pattern was revised. In the Prelims exam, the marking scheme for the Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability was changed. The exam pattern is divided into prelims, mains and interviews. It is explained below in detail:

IBPS PO prelims exam is conducted for one hour with 20 minutes of sectional timings. It consists of three sections with a total of 100 questions. The exam consists of 100 marks. IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern (Revised)
In the Mains exam now, 145 objective questions will be asked for 200 marks and an additional Descriptive Paper worth 25 marks will be asked, making the total 225 marks. Each section is separately timed which is demanding better time management from the candidates. IBPS PO mains exam pattern comprises both objective and descriptive-type tests. The duration of the test is 3 hours 10 minutes. The total marks allotted to the test are 225. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are called for an interview.

IBPS PO Interview
Shortlisted candidates for the mains exam are called for the interview, which is conducted by the participating organizations and coordinated by the nodal bank. The interview carries 100 marks. In the interview, candidates are asked questions based on the Banking Sector, Current Affairs, General Awareness, etc. The minimum qualifying mark in the interview is 40 per cent (35 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

There is no limit in the number of attempts in the IBPS PO exam. But important is to confirm the standards given in the notification. Candidate can give the exam as many times but the age limit is from 20 to 30 years. That is in between he or she can appear in the exam as many times they want.
The IBPS PO notification is expected to be issued in June-July 2026 at ibps.in. It will consists of all the infomation related to the exam like application process, pattern, syllabus, dates, vacancies, selection process, etc.
IBPS PO result is announced online at ibps.in. To check it, candidates need to enter registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. It displays the qualifying status of candidates for the next round of selection process. The hard copy of the result is not sent to aspirant by post. IBPS PO interview is conducted for candidates who qualify the Mains exam. The interview is of 100 marks. The level of difficulty may be easy or difficult.It can be cleared with the right approach. For this, candidates need to answer the interview questions with creativity.
The official notification has not been released for 2026. But as per the official notification released for 2025, the IBPS PO application fee was INR 850 for General/OBC candidates and INR 175 for SC/ST/ PwBD candidates inclusive of GST.

Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc. Other items like Goggles, Handbags, Hair-pin, Hair-band, Belt, Cap, Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, metallic item, eatable item opened or packed, water bottle (only transparent water bottle is allowed), Any other item which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like camera, bluetooth devices etc. After AarogyaSetu status display at the entry gate, candidates will be required to switch off their mobile phones, and deposit it at the designated location, to be collected while exiting. Any candidate who is found either copying or receiving or giving assistance will be disqualified. Candidates should avoid wearing ornaments like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, brooch etc.
