IBPS PO Exam 2025: The authority is expected to soon declare the IBPS PO Mains Result 2025 for the exam conducted on October 12. Candidates will be able to download their IBPS PO Mains result from the offiical website at ibps.in. A direct link will also be provided here once it is released. The authority announced the prelims exam scorecard on October 6, 2025. The prelims exam was conducted on August 23 and 24. 

There are 5,208 IBPS PO vacancies notified for the IBPS PO 2025 exam. The exam is conducted for the selection of candidates for 11 public sector banks. The authority conducts the IBPS PO exam every year since 2011 to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officer in various public sector banks in India.

The Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection will soon release the Mains result.The IBPS PO prelims result was declared for the exam conducted on August 23 and 24, 2025. The IBPS PO main exam 2025 was conducted on October 12, 2025. The result will be released online and the candidates will be required to check their result by logging with their registration number and date of birth or password.

The marking scheme of IBPS PO is given below:

  • Candidates are awarded one mark for correct answers
  • 0.25 marks are deducted for wrong answers
  • The total marks are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers

Normalisation of IBPS PO Marks

IBPS calculates the IBPS PO marks of the candidates through a method called normalisation that help candidates to get a rounded-up figure. Since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts and days the difficulty level of the question paper varies from one shift to another. Normalisation of scores is done to balance and assist in the fair evaluation. This method is followed both for prelims and Mains exams. Some of the benefits of normalisation are given below: The first assumption made for normalisation of marks is that the candidates across all the shifts of the exam have similar abilities The number of candidates appearing in the exam conducted by IBPS in large shifts is randomly done.

IBPS PO Cut off 2025

The Insitute of Banking and Personnel Selection will release the IBPS PO cutoff 2025 after the declaration of result. The cutoff will be released for all the categories separately. It will be released with the IBPS PO 2025 scorecard of the candidates. IBPS PO cut off is released separately for prelims exam, mains and final selection. The cut-off is made available in PDF form for different sections and categories. IBPS PO cut off is applied to the overall score and individual score.

Q:   What happens after you clear IBPS PO exam?
A: 

After clearing the online tests of IBPS PO exam, candidates are called to participate in a Personal Interview with a panel of experts. This interview assess the overall suitability for the position of probationary officer, and include questions about their qualifications, work experience, and personal characteristics. After the Personal Interview a merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Mains exam and interview. Candidates who are placed in the merit list are eligible for appointment as a probationary officer in the participating banks. The IBPS PO exam syllabus for preliminary and mains exam is different. The prelim exam tests a candidate's knowledge in English Language, Maths and Reasoning Ability. The Institute of Banking and Personnel released the IBPS PO 2025 notification on June 30, 2025. The IBPS PO notification mentions the important components of the exam such as the eligibility, vacancies, exam pattern, syllabus and the selection procedure of the exam. Nationality Requirement

A candidate applying for IBPS CRP/Bank PO Examination must be one of the following:

1. Citizen of India

2. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan

3. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement

4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India

Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favour.

Age Limit

IBPS PO eligibility criteria are certain parameters regarding age and educational qualification. The age limit of candidates for IBPS PO is between 20 and 30 years. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1995 and not later than 01.08.2005 (both dates inclusive).

The IBPS also provides age relaxation to certain categories.  Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to the following categories.

Educational Qualification

The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CRP exam is a graduation degree (BA, BCom, BSc, BTech, etc) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India. Any such candidate who has received equivalent qualification which the Central Government recognizes is also eligible to apply for this exam.

The candidates must have a valid mark sheet/ degree certificate that certifies that they are a graduate on the day they register for this exam, and must indicate the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while registering for the IBPS PO. 

Calculation of Graduation Percentage

The percentage of marks obtained in graduation is arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any) multiplied by 100. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on the basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived is ignored i.e. 59.99 per cent will be treated as less than 60 per cent and 54.99 per cent are treated as less than 55 per cent.

Computer Literacy

Working knowledge of computer systems is necessary for the job as well as to give the IBPS PO exam which is conducted in online mode.

Language Proficiency

Verbal and written proficiency in the official language of the State/UT is desirable. The candidate must be able to read, write and speak the language.

IBPS PO application form needs to be filled online only. While filling the form, candidates need to upload the scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration. Without filling the application form candidate will not be able to appear in the exam.

A: 
IBPS PO handwritten declaration is a text which candidates need to write in their own handwriting. By uploading it, an aspirant agree to the fact that the details provided in the application form are correct and valid. It has to be in English only. If it is written by anybody else and uploaded or in any other language, the application will be considered as invalid. The handwritten declaration should not be written in Capital Letters. IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2025

The IBPS PO 2025 exam pattern was revised. In the Prelims exam, the marking scheme for the Quantitative Aptitude and  Reasoning Ability was changed. The exam pattern is divided into prelims, mains and interviews. It is explained below in detail:

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern (Revised)

IBPS PO prelims exam is conducted for one hour with 20 minutes of sectional timings. It consists of three sections with a total of 100 questions. The exam consists of 100 marks. There is a negative marking in IBPS PO and 0.25 marks are deducted for a wrong answer. IBPS PO exam pattern is given below.

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern (Revised)

In the Mains exam now, 145 objective questions will be asked for 200 marks and an additional Descriptive Paper worth 25 marks will be asked, making the total 225 marks. Each section is separately timed which is demanding better time management from the candidates. IBPS PO mains exam pattern comprises both objective and descriptive-type tests. The duration of the test is 3 hours 10 minutes. The total marks allotted to the test are 225. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are called for an interview.

Shortlisted candidates for the mains exam are called for the interview, which is conducted by the participating organizations and coordinated by the nodal bank. The interview carries 100 marks. In the interview, candidates are asked questions based on the Banking Sector, Current Affairs, General Awareness, etc. The minimum qualifying mark in the interview is 40 per cent (35 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

Q:   What is IBPS PO 2025 Educational Qualification?
A: 

IBPS PO educational qualification is a Degree/Graduation in any discipline from a university recognised by the government. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Candidates must possess valid marksheet/degree Certificate that they are graduate on the day they register and indicates the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while registration online. All educational mentioned by the examination authority should be from a university/institution/board recognised by government. Candidates can check below the IBPS PO 2025 Mains the latest exam pattern:

  • In the Mains exam, 4 sections will be there namely Reasoning Ability, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation and General Awareness.
  • The total time for IBPS PO 2025 Mains Objective Exam is 160 minutes and 30 minutes additional for descriptive test. Therefore, the total duration of the Mains exam is 190 minutes or 3 hours and 10 minutes. 
  • A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in the objective test.
  • In the Mains exam now, 145 objective questions will be asked for 200 marks and an additional Descriptive Paper worth 25 marks will be asked, making the total 225 marks.
  • Each section is separately timed which is demanding better time management from the candidates.

A: 

There is no limit in the number of attempts in the IBPS PO exam. But important is to confirm the standards given in the notification. Candidate can give the exam as many times but the age limit is from 20 to 30 years. That is in between he or she can appear in the exam as many times they want.

Q:   What are the items banned inside the IBPS PO exam centre?
A: 

Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box,  Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc. Other items like Goggles, Handbags, Hair-pin, Hair-band, Belt, Cap, Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, metallic item, eatable item opened or packed, water bottle (only transparent water bottle is allowed), Any other item which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like camera, bluetooth devices etc. After AarogyaSetu status display at the entry gate, candidates will be required to switch off their mobile phones, and deposit it at the designated location, to be collected while exiting. Any candidate who is found either copying or receiving or giving assistance will be disqualified. Candidates should avoid wearing ornaments like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, brooch etc.
