After clearing the online tests of IBPS PO exam, candidates are called to participate in a Personal Interview with a panel of experts. This interview assess the overall suitability for the position of probationary officer, and include questions about their qualifications, work experience, and personal characteristics. After the Personal Interview a merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Mains exam and interview. Candidates who are placed in the merit list are eligible for appointment as a probationary officer in the participating banks. Candidates should note the letter of appointment is issued by the participating banks. Allotment of candidates is done based on merit-cum-preference.

The Institute of Banking and Personnel conducted the IBPS PO 2025 prelims exam on August 23 and 24. The IBPS PO 2025 prelims result was released on September 26, 2025. The main exam was held on October 12, 2025.

The IBPS PO 2025 online applications started on July 1, 2025. 

IBPS PO cut off is released category-wise and section-wise. The cut off is not released state-wise. This year, a total of 5208 vacancies are announced for IBPS PO 2025 exam. The highest number of vacancies are announced for Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharashtra and Canara Bank that is 1000.  A total of 2204 vacancies are announced for General Category, 1337 for OBC, 782 for SC and 365 for ST. To score 70 in IBPS PO exam, candidates need to work regularly on improving speed and gaining marks. Topics and question asked from it also plays an important role. Frequent revision will work. Read the chapters and syllabus properly. 

The ratio of candidates selected for an interview are 80:20. Aspirants are selected based on mains exam and their performance in interview is based upon final merit list. The interview is held for 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 40 per cent and for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD are 35 per cent.

IBPS PO educational qualification is a Degree/Graduation in any discipline from a university recognised by the government. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Candidates must possess valid marksheet/degree Certificate that they are graduate on the day they register and indicates the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while registration online. All educational mentioned by the examination authority should be from a university/institution/board recognised by government. Of India/approved by government/approved by government  on or before July 21, 2025.  Proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before
July 21, 2025 has to be submitted at the time of interview. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation are not eligible to apply for the exam. At the time of interview, candidates are required to submit the educational qualification certificates.

Yes, candidates selected for the post of IBPS PO will be on probation for two years. During probation, the performance of candidates is assessed. It is to be noted that Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees/ intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate.

The IBPS PO 2025 Prelims exam pattern has been revised. The overall marks and the negative marking remain the same, but internally changes have been made in the prelims exam pattern. The marking scheme has been changed. Also, the marks for the Quantitative Aptitude have been reduced to 30 from 35, and on the other hand, the marks for the Reasoning section have been increased by 5, that is, from 35 to 40. • In the Mains exam, 4 sections will be there namely Reasoning Ability, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation and General Awareness.
• The total time for IBPS PO 2025 Mains Objective Exam is 160 minutes and 30 minutes additional for descriptive test. Therefore, the total duration of the Mains exam is 190 minutes or 3 hours and 10 minutes. 
• A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in the objective test.
• In the Mains exam now, 145 objective questions will be asked for 200 marks and an additional Descriptive Paper worth 25 marks will be asked, making the total 225 marks.
• Each section is separately timed which is demanding better time management from the candidates.

Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box,  Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc. Other items like Goggles, Handbags, Hair-pin, Hair-band, Belt, Cap, Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, metallic item, eatable item opened or packed, water bottle (only transparent water bottle is allowed), Any other item which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like camera, bluetooth devices etc. After AarogyaSetu status display at the entry gate, candidates will be required to switch off their mobile phones, and deposit it at the designated location, to be collected while exiting. Any candidate who is found either copying or receiving or giving assistance will be disqualified. Candidates should avoid wearing ornaments like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, brooch etc.
