SSC CGL Application Form 2026: The Staff Selection Commission is expected to start the registration soon at anytime on the official website at ssc.gov.in for the SSC CGL exam 2026. Along with the release of SSC CGL notification, the application process will also begin. It is important for the candidate to do the One-Time Registration. The notification PDF consists of all the information related to the exam. Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria properly before applying for the examination. Candidates will get around 20 days to fill out the application form online. Without registration, candidates will not be able to sit in the exam. The SSC CGL exam is expected to be conducted in May-June 2026.

The Staff Selection Commission will activate the SSC CGL 2026 online application link with the official notification in April. The candidates will be required to fill out the SSC CGL application form through the One-Time Registration number and credentials. The candidate requires the SSC registration number for login purposes. 

How to Apply Online for SSC CGL Exam 2026?

Candidates will be required to fill the SSC CGL form 2026 on the official website of the Commission in two parts - registration and application. The manner to fill out the application form is given below.

  • Visit the official website of SSC - ssc.gov.in
  • Click on the 'New User? Register Now 'link. 
  • Fill the SSC CGL registration form.
  • Log in to the registered account using the registration number (generated at the time of registration) and password (set at the time of registration).
  • Fill in all details asked in the SSC CGL application form.
  • Upload scanned images of photos and signatures and other important documents, if applicable. 
  • Review the SSC online form carefully and click on the Final Submit button.
  • Pay the application fee of INR 100 in online or offline mode.

SSC CGL Form Fee

SSC CGL form fee will be INR 100 only. Once the form was duly filled, candidates can to pay SSC CGL application fee through SBI Challan/BHIM UPI/Net Banking or by using Visa/Mastercard/Maestro Credit/RuPay debit card. SSC CGL 2026 application correction fee was INR 200 for the first time and INR 500 for the second time.

To start with, candidates will be required to fill SSC CGL registration form. Some details that candidates will be required to fill in the registration form has the following details:
  • Name.
  • Father’s name.
  • Mother’s name.
  • Gender.
  • Date of birth.
  • Category.
  • Permanent address.
  • Once all details were filled in, candidates had to click on the Submit button to submit the form.

On submission of the form, a registration ID and password were generated. Candidates had to note down the ID and password, which were required to apply for SSC CGL exam as well as any other recruitment exam of the commission.

Q:   Is One-Time Registration mandatory for SSC exams?

Yes, it is mandatory to get the One-Time Registration (OTR) Number before applying for the SSC CGL exam. The candidates require OTR to login at ssc.gov.in. Without One Time Registration, the candidates won't be able to login and hence no application will be visible to them. OTR is independant to the exam, and the candidates can apply for any number of SSC exams with one OTR only.

Q:   What should I do if I forget my SSC Registration ID or Password?

The candidates get their registration ID on their mobile and the email account provided at the time of SSC One-Time registration.If you forget your Registration ID or Password:

The SSC CGL exam is conducted online as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) in both tiers. The Commission conduct the exam at the designated exam centres and the regional websites of the Commission release the admit card, four days before the exam date.

No. The Tier 1 marks for the SSC CGL are not used in the preparation of the final merit list. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature. Candidates are shortlisted for Tier 2 exam. However, the final selection and ranking is based on the marks obtained in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam.
