NIT Rourkela to Lead NIT+ System; IIT Kanpur to Oversee IIT System Admissions
NIT Rourkela and IIT Kanpur will jointly coordinate the 2025 edition of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), with NIT Rourkela overseeing the NIT+ System and IIT Kanpur leading the IIT System. The JoSAA 2025 admission process is set to begin in the first week of June 2025, featuring six rounds of seat allocation. CSAB-Special Rounds for Seat Allocation
As in previous years, CSAB will conduct the CSAB-Special rounds to fill vacant seats remaining after the completion of all JoSAA 2025 rounds. For 2025, the CSAB-Special process will comprise three rounds. Additionally, CSAB will coordinate a Supernumerary Round specifically for students from Union Territories including Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli in select NITs.
In his message to the aspirants, Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao, Director, NIT Rourkela, and Chairperson, CSAB & DASA 2025, said, “CSAB 2025 is designed to offer a seamless, transparent, and inclusive seat allocation process for JEE (Main) qualified candidates across the nation. Simultaneously, DASA 2025 underscores our continued commitment to welcoming international students to India’s leading technical institutions. With strong digital systems, multilingual assistance, and dedicated accessibility initiatives, we are focused on ensuring a smooth and student-centric admission experience for all aspirants, domestic and international alike.”
An estimated 14.5 lakh JEE (Main) qualified candidates are expected to compete for around 40,000 seats across participating institutes, with 20% of the seats reserved for female candidates. The entire seat allocation process including registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and document verification will be conducted entirely online.
DASA 2025 Registration and Process
The DASA seat allotment will be based on JEE (Main) ranks and candidate preferences, with three rounds of seat allocation. Detailed information will be available on the official DASA website: www.dasanit.org. In line with government norms, seat allocation across all schemes for undergraduate admissions to the NIT+ System will be determined by candidates' ranks in JEE (Main) 2025.
Candidate Support and Accessibility
A multi-lingual helpdesk has been set up at the CSAB 2025 headquarters at NIT Rourkela to assist candidates throughout the seat allocation process. The helpdesk will provide support in Assamese, Bengali, English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, and Telugu.
