CSIR NET Exam 2026: June Analysis (Today), Question Paper, Review, Answer Key, Cutoff, Results

The CSIR NET 2026 June Exam Shift 1 is over. It was concluded at 12 PM. The CSIR NET admit card on the official portal at csirnet.nta.nic.in. The City Slip was released on July 8. The analysis is provided here after the completion of each shift.

As per the feedback received from the students, todays Life Science exam overall difficulty level is Moderate. Questions asked from Plant Physio were more and were simple. Ecology was also asked more. General Aptitude asked in the examination was moderate. Molecular Biology questions were also asked.

The exam overall was not lengthy as compared to the previous session.

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) NET (also known as CSIR UGC NET) is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor in the universities and colleges of India.

Candidates clearing the CSIR NET exam can become lecturers in the subject areas falling under the faculty of Science & Technology only. It is also important for a candidate to check eligibility criteria before applying for it. CSIR NET Exam is conducted for the following subjects:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the CSIR NET NTA June exam date on the official website at csirnet.nta.nic.in. It will be conducted as a computer-based test in two shifts. The CSIR NET exam date is mentioned in the Information bulletin or official notification. First shift will be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm. Candidates can check below CSIR NET exam important dates.

The hall ticket for the CSIR UGC NET June session was released by the NTA. The CSIR NET admit card contains various details of the examination, like the examination centre, exam date, time of examination, etc. It is mandatory to carry the hall ticket at the examination centre by the candidate. Without call letter, candidate will not be able to sit in the exam. Candidates can download it from below.

CSIR NET 2026 June Exam Schedule

The NTA released the examination date and schedule of the CSIR UGC NET June session examination. 

The CSIR NET exam consists of three parts namely Part A, B and C. Part A covers General Aptitude and is common to all the aspirants while Part B and C are subject specific. Therefore, understanding the syllabus is crucial for the effective preparation. The Joint CSIR UGC NET Syllabus consists of the important topics required for the preparation of an exam. The Syllabus for all five subjects are mentioned below:

CSIR NET Syllabus: Part A

• Numerical Ability- Number and Simplification; Average; Quadratic Equations; Sequence and Series; Surd and Indices; Logarithms; Percentage; Profit and Loss; Simple Interest & Compound Interest; Partnership; LCM and HCF; Probability; Mensuration.
• Reasoning- Series Formation; Ranking and Arrangement; Puzzles; Coding-Decoding; Distance and Directions; Calendar and Clock, etc.
• Data Interpretation and Graphical Analysis- Mean, Median & Mode; Measures of Dispersion; Graphical Analysis: Bar Graph, Line Graph; Pie-Chart; Tabulation.

CSIR NET Syllabus: Part B & C

A detailed CSIR NET Syllabus will help the students score better in the exam and present better clarity of the topics to be covered.

• Chemical Sciences- Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Interdisciplinary topics, etc.
• Earth Sciences- Geology, Applied Geology, Physical Geography, Geophysics, Meteorology, Ocean Sciences, etc.
• Life Sciences- Molecules and their Interaction, Cellular Organization, Developmental Biology, Diversity of Life Forms, Cell Communication and Cell Signaling, Ecological Principles, etc.
• Mathematical Sciences- Analysis Linear Algebra, Complex Analysis Algebra, Topology, Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs), Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), Numerical Analysis, Calculus of Variations, Linear Integral Equations, Classical Mechanics, Statistics, Exploratory Data Analysis, etc.
• Physical Sciences- Mathematical Methods of Physics, Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetic Theory, Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamic and Statistical Physics, Electronics and Experimental Methods, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Nuclear and Particle Physics, etc.

CSIR NET 2026 Exam Pattern

The NTA CSIR NET Question Paper is divided into three sections- Part A, B and C. Part 'A' shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions of General Aptitude. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions for two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.

The CSIR NET Part A consists of General Aptitude questions that assess the candidates’ teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension skills, divergent thinking and general awareness.

The CSIR NET Part B and C consist of questions that are based on the subjects chosen by candidates from the following five subjects - Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences.
