CSIR NET Application Form 2026
The authority will release the CSIR NET 2026 application form for the June session at csirnet.nta.nic.in. The Application Form needs to be filled by candidates in two parts – registration and application. Check below the methods to apply online for the exam:

- Click on the application form button
- Click on the new registration button
- Read the instructions and click on the checkbox given at the bottom of the page
- Click on Click Here to Proceed button
- Fill in all details asked in the registration form
- Click on Submit
- Note down the system-generated application number and password
- Login to the registered account using the application number and password
- Fill in all details asked in the form
- Upload scanned images of photo and signature in JPG format as per the prescribed specifications

CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2026
The CSIR UGC NET Exam is conducted for a total of five subjects – Chemical Sciences; Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences; Life Sciences; Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences. Although the CSIR NET question paper for each subject differs, the pattern of creation of papers is largely the same.
CSIR NET Question Paper for each subject contains objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. Each CSIR UGC NET paper is divided into three parts – A, B and C. Questions in Part A are common for all candidates. Questions in Parts B and C differ as per the subject chosen by the candidate.
Each part of the CSIR NET exam contains a different number of questions. Total questions that candidates need to attempt also differ as per the subject chosen by the candidate.
Candidate need to complete th exam in three hours.

The June session exam date for the CSIR NET 2026 has not been released yet. It will be conducted in two shifts. The whole exam schedule will be released by the authority. It will be announced at csirnet.nta.nic.in.
Yes, category affects the CSIR NET cutoff. The CSIR NET cutoff marks vary by category and subject. As per the official notification, candidates must score at least 33% in the General, EWS, and OBC categories and a minimum of 25% in the SC, ST, and PwD categories to qualify for both Fellowship and Lectureship/Assistant Professor.

Officially it is mentioned that CSIR Fellowships or Associateships are tenable in universities, IITs, postgraduate colleges, government research establishments including those of CSIR, R&D establishments of recognised public or private sector industrial firms, and other recognised institutions.
As per the information bulletin, the upper age limit for the CSIR NET exam should not be more than 30 years as on the first day of the month in which the examination is concluded. A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-NCL (as per the Central list of OBC) /SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third gender categories and to women applicants.
If the difficulty level of the CSIR NET exam is higher than the last year question papers then there is a chance that the cut off will be decreased. Also, some of the candidates will gain high marks and so to maintain it the authority adjust the cutoff.
