JoSAA Round 1 Cutoff 2025: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the JoSAA 2025 counselling round 1 cutoff. On this page, candidates can check the JoSAA round 1 cutoff 2025 for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. JoSAA 2025 round 1 cutoff includes the JEE Advanced opening and closing ranks for IIT admissions and JEE Main 2025 opening and closing ranks for NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. JoSAA cutoff for round 1 can be also checked as opening and closing ranks at josaa.nic.in.
The candidates whose ranks fall in the JoSAA 2025 opening and closing ranks for IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs are eligible for seat allotment after JoSAA 2025 round 1 counselling. Those candidates who have been allotted seats can check the JoSAA provisional seat allotment letter under their respective JoSAA login 2025. Candidates who have been allocated a seat need to download the “Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip”, which has information regarding the allotted seat.

Yes. You can. Both counselling has different purpose. JoSAA is for admission to IIT and NIT+ system, while JAC Delhi is for admission to IIIT D, NSUT, DTU, DSEU, and IGDTUW. Admission via both JoSAA and JAC Delhi is based on JEE Main ranks.
JoSAA counselling will start in June 2026, a day after the JEE Advanced 2026 result is announced. The dates for JoSAA 2026 has been announced on the official website of JoSAA - josaa.nic.in. The counselling will include at least 6 rounds of seat allotment.
Joint Seat Allocation Authority is an admission and e-counselling services established by Ministry of Education. It regulates admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

JoSAA counselling is usually held in 5 or 6 rounds. The admission process for admissions in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 40 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) will be done by JoSAA in various rounds deending on various factors. In these rounds, candidates are allotted seats based on their JEE Main or JEE Advanced rank and preferences filled by them during registration. Candidates who are allotted seats have to either accept or float the seat.
Yes. Apart from JEE Main/JEE Advanced rabks, class 12 marks are also considered for admission to IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs. It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates should apply for JoSAA conselling only if they fulfill all the conditions of eligibility.
There is no fee for JoSAA registration. Candidates have to login to the JoSAA portal with their JEE Main application number and password to start their JoSAA counselling process.

- Go to JoSAA website
- Click on the Opening and Closing Ranks 2025 link
- After this, select Institute type, the Institute name, the Academic programme, and the seat type/category.
- Click on the submit button and scroll down.

After JoSAA Counselling 2025 Round 1 Seat Allotment
After JoSAA round 1, candidates who get a seat have to select between Freeze, float or slide options.
- Choosing freeze means you accept the allotted seat and will not be participating in further JoSAA counselling rounds.
- Selecting float will mean that you accept the allotted course, but you would like to be considered for a better institute with the same course in the further rounds of JoSAA.
- If you select slide, it will mean you want to be considered for a better course allotment in the same institute allotted in the further JoSAA counselling rounds.

No, JoSAA counselling is not required for the students who want to take admission on the basis of entrance in BTech at Army Institute of Technology, Pune. Only entrance scores are considered at the time of admission. Students need to submit JEE Mains scorecard at the time of admission.

Yes, students may get a seat in NIT Puducherry BTech with 92 percentile in JEE Main through JoSAA counselling. The cutoff is high for specialisations, such as CSE. With NITPY being one of the top institutes and part of the NIT Tag, the cutoff is always high. But 92 percentile can be enough for later
