RRB Kolkata has increased the number of vacancies earlier advertised for NTPC posts in Kolkata Metro Railway. The vacant posts for Traffic Assistant have now been increased to 160 from 87.

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Kolkata, has increased the number of vacancies earlier advertised for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts in Kolkata Metro Railway. According to the official notice, β€œThe vacancies notified in the centralised employment notification CEN-01/2019 for the post of traffic assistant (Category No.8) of Metro Railway/ Kolkata under RRB Kolkata have been revised.” The vacant posts for Traffic Assistant have now been increased to 160 from 87.

Meanwhile, RRBs are conducting the first phase of RRB NTPC exam till January 13 amid COVID-19 pandemic. Approximately 23 lakh candidates are appearing in the exam. Wearing masks is mandatory. Candidates are checked for the temperature at entry using the thermo guns. Candidates having temperatures more than prescribed limits are not allowed inside the exam venue, as per rules. They can reschedule their exams to some other date.

The first stage CBT of RRB NTPC is held for 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied by scribe). The test paper comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The test paper comprises100 objective type multiple-choice questions. The first stage CBT is qualifying in nature. The standard of questions will be of Class 10, 12 and graduation level.
