JEE Main Cutoff 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the JEE Main cutoff with the session 2 result. Until then, candidates can check here the JEE Main 2026 expected cutoff to qualify for JEE Advanced 2026.
Additionally, review the previous year's JEE Mains cutoff data on this page, which is crucial for setting realistic JEE Main score targets. Previous year cutoffs also help in understanding trends (such as difficulty & competition) and identifying potential colleges (NITs and IIITs).
Important thing to note is that JEE Main cutoff are of two types- qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff.
- Type 1: The qualifying cut-off of JEE Main 2026 comprises the minimum score that JEE Main exam aspirants need to secure to be eligible for JEE Advanced. To be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026 candidates have to get more than or equal to the category-wise cutoff of JEE Main 2026. Only those candidates who meet JEE Main qualifying cutoffs become eligible to appear in JEE Advanced for admission to IITs in India.
- Type 2: The admission cutoff of JEE Main 2026 is the opening and closing ranks for each institute and is released by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). Candidates must get minimum ranks (closing ranks) for admission to JEE Main participating institutes. JoSAA releases admission cutoffs for all the participating institutes.

JEE Main 2026 Cutoff (Expected)
The JEE Main 2026 cutoff to qualify for JEE Advanced will be dependent on various factors. The cutoff varies each year by 1 to 3 percentiles for the general category. In 2025, and 2024 the cutoff for the general category remained almost the same. However, before that, the cutoff has been rising with each year.
As per the expert reviews of the past year cutoff data, present year registration and many other factors, here is an expected cutoff for JEE Main 2026 exam:

As per the JEE Main 2023 cutoff data released by the NTA, PwD category has the lowest cutoff of 0.0013527. The highest cutoff is for general category which is 90.7788642. The PwD candidates scoring above 0.0013527 NTA score are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced for admission to IITs. The PwD cutoff has been lowered in 2023 to 0.0013527 which was 0.0031029 in the year 2022.
Candidates who do not score above JEE Main cutoff marks are eligible to take admissions in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs but not IITs. To appear in the admission process for IITs, candidates need to get marks above than the JEE Main cutoff and appear in JEE Advanced exam.
The cutoff for NITs vary for various branches and also category of students. Specialised branches like computer Science and electronics engineering has higher cutoff in comparison to other branches. Similarly, JEE Main cutoff for general category candidates is higher in comparison to OBC-NCL and SC, ST candidates.
